2wWhen I went last year when it was in Miami, I think honestly my favorite part was just *talking* to everyone, and how much passion all the Googlers showed about their projects. You just don't see that passion nowadays anymore. So often people go into this industry because it's lucrative, or because they're told it's where "it" is, but you see it everywhere on LinkedIn--everyone posting the same, algorithmic content they're told will get them ranking, as though there's some sort of industrial grade SEO strategy that will help them "win." But in doing so everyone produces the same mass produced content which ends up making it passionless and worthless. Like with true SEO--being authentic and delivering what people actually want, and doing it with passion, is what really gets you ranking above all competition. And having been to Enterprise Connect, it's very easy to see how differently Googlers go about talking about their projects vs the whole rest of the industry (at least, the Contact Center industry). That sparkle in their eyes whenever they talk, the "I'm not here to get you to buy my product, here's something cool I'm working on and I want you to see it" that absolutely was present there... that's what I loved about I/O.
