Google brings Stack Overflow’s knowledge base to Gemini for Google Cloud
Developer Q&A site Stack Overflow is launching a new program today that will give AI companies access to its knowledge base through a new API, aptly named OverflowAPI. The launch partner for this is Google, which will use Stack Overflow’s data to enrich Gemini for Google Cloud and provide validated Stack Overflow answers in the Google Cloud console. Meanwhile, Stack Overflow will work with Google to bring more AI-powered features to its platform, a process it already started last year with the launch of OverflowAI.

✨ Hello amigos! I have a cool new Google Cloud project to share! ✨
Check this out! I deployed a project on Google Cloud that does the following:
YouTube Transcript Extraction 🎤 Fetches transcripts from any YouTube video URL.
AI-Powered Summarization 🧠 Leverages Google's Gemini Vertex AI to generate concise summaries.
Speech Synthesis 🔊 Uses Google's Text-to-Speech API for natural-sounding audio conversion.
Downloadable Audio + QR Code ⬇️ Stores the audio in a bucket and provides a convenient QR code for download.
This project seamlessly integrates Cloud Run with multiple Cloud Functions which are chained together following iam best practices.
Full deployment code (with infrastructure-as-code) coming soon – stay tuned!
Thanks Alexandre Cormerais, very powerful technology for data democratisation!
Best of both world for business analysts who can
- create their own analytical reports and dashboards in a few clicks whatever the granularity, e.g. geographical level (market, region, store) or product hierarchy (category, range, sku, ...)
- while benefiting from their company's standard definition of revenue, margin, you name the metric.
Cool stuff
First, my appreciation to Google Cloud and Stackoverflow, they are made for each other. Seeing Google Cloud Firestore (NDB) for the first time in my life, and still being able to use it in code in one day. You are amazing.
Then: another bragging video of Demo for technology of fully automated similar images detection, independent from affine transformation and some other /felon/ changes on visual scene.
Demo site (updated with google cloud) :
https://lnkd.in/e9v9ebky
Most amazing - image is processed once, and resulting metadata can be used forever, without reprocessing the image!
- Affine transformation independent
- Can handle scaling with different scale on different axes
- image file independent
- Quick and simple. It's python-based by the way, can you imagine how fast it could be on C or C++? But they are not that rookie-friendly :)
-Algorithmic. You can integrate it into your code in several days (if you have a code that works with image, and storage already).
Want to? Let me know.
So. Instructions are on the site (see example in the video). Try it with your images.

What is the future of “People also ask” boxes? 🔮
We’ve found ourselves looking to Google’s new “Search Generative Experience,” shown off recently at Google I/O. It’s not clear from this image whether the questions at the bottom are AI-generated or part of the old PAA system, or something in between; or indeed whether they’ll totally replace PAAs on the SERPs where they appear 🤷
Of course, we’ll be collecting this data (and much more) as soon as these results start appearing, but in the meantime, here’s what you need to know now: https://bit.ly/42ugSSO
I've been an avid user of Hugging Face, and I'm continuously amazed by its growth and capabilities.
To date, Hugging Face offers an impressive library of over one million AI models. This massive resource pool significantly enhances the AI development landscape.
My experience as part of the Google Startup Program, coupled with in-depth discussions with the Google team, has provided me with insights into their commitment to democratizing AI. Google's efforts in making these open-source models readily available is a game changer. It opens doors for businesses and organizations of all sizes, offering them the tools to develop their own custom AI models.
An intriguing aspect is the potential collaboration between these two tech giants:
Both Hugging Face and Google are champions of ethical AI. Their collaboration could set new standards in AI development, focusing on creating technologies that are not only advanced but also ethically sound, transparent, and respectful of user privacy.
Moreover, such a partnership could accelerate AI research, pushing the frontiers of what's possible. We could see the emergence of AI models that are not only more sophisticated but also more efficient, accurate, and adept at understanding and generating human language. This synergy promises to usher in an exciting new era in AI technology.
