Our shared mission was to delve deeper into the understanding of Pompe disease and its profound impact on those who bravely battle it each day. After welcoming addresses given by Chris Chen & Pat O'Sullivan, Chief Technical Operations Officer from Amicus Therapeutics. Representatives from Amicus Therapeutics provided insights into their patient-dedicated corporate culture and commitment to improving the lives of patients and families affected by rare and orphan diseases. A healthcare professional specializing in Pompe disease painted a vivid picture of the medical battle that these patients confront. The CEO of Rare Diseases Ireland then shared how we can collectively advocate for people living with rare diseases. The highlight of the day was a powerful patient video that moved us all. It was a stark reminder of why we do what we do and why it matters so much. Amid these insights and shared commitment, our employees felt a deepened sense of purpose, realizing the critical role they play in this important mission.
