The first time I heard about the Employee Value Proposition #EVP was back in the 90s when I was given a book on Job Design, Performance Culture and Reward. The only people who seemed to talk about it were Reward and Benefits people and it was a strategic tool that supported retention and clarity around what the offer was for employees, with tools like Total Reward Statements not just focusing on Pay, but also on culture, growth, learning and development etc... Today, I only hear it being discussed by Recruitment or Talent people and very much as an attraction tool. This appears to have fundamentally changed how organisations design their #EmployeeValueProposition and more importantly who designs it. Most often I see it alongside branding and not alongside job design What caused this shift? Or is the EVP still alive and well in the People Experience, OD, Reward and Benefits space?
