Richard started as an external messenger at the DBSA head office in 2017. When the pandemic hit the country in 2019, he was one of the two remaining external messengers tasked to continue working for the head office. Despite the lockdowns, the team strived to survive by offering special delivery services to both old and new clients. Dispatch operations were conducted at one of our Operations Managers, Ms. Rose Zapanta's residence, during the initial two months of lockdown. His dispatching journey began during the S&P project, which involved laptop movement and Christmas giveaways. He was deployed on-site to oversee motorized messengers and vans. It was their first experience providing this kind of service, and they were pleased that there were no major issues with the deliveries. After the S&P Project, he was permanently assigned as a Dispatcher at the DBSA head office. Although it was initially challenging, with the support and guidance of Ms. Rose and the specialists, he learned a great deal during this phase of their DBSA career. Due to the high demand for special delivery services through motorized messengers, Richard, together with the team, created and implemented a new matrix for MC rental. This expansion of services to nearby Luzon areas allowed for the optimization of messenger routes through meticulous dispatch planning. One of the challenges he faced as a dispatcher was the unpredictability of the volume, with only three regular messengers available initially. Recruiting messengers from the workforce pool proved to be a daunting task. Significant improvements have been made, and there are six regular DBSA external messengers. This dramatically reduces the challenge of finding messengers to meet urgent delivery needs, particularly those with time constraints. Thanks to the efforts of external messengers and colleagues, the trust built upon our services has increased the client base. #highperformer #teammember #globalteam
