At Etsy, our teams are constantly working to keep our marketplace safe and special, so we can elevate the best of what our sellers have to offer. Today, Etsy published our annual Transparency Report for 2023, a detailed overview of our policy enforcement efforts over the last year, and a look into the priorities that are already underway for 2024. A few highlights: 🔸In 2023, we doubled the total number of listings we removed for violating our policies compared to the year prior. 🔸We removed four times as many listings for violating our Handmade Policy in 2023 than the previous year. 🔸We reduced the amount of policy-violating items users see when they search Etsy by 60% compared to 2022. While we’re extremely proud of the progress our teams have made over the last year, we know there’s more work to do. In 2024, we’ll continue to expand these efforts, from improving policy enforcement efforts to protecting our communities from spam and scams. Hi there! I am reading all the comments under your posts and see that the situation with the suspension has become a real issue. I am a moderator of one Ukrainian seller's group on FB and every single day I see the posts from my colleagues that their shops have been closed without any reason. Of course, there are violators among them. But! I see lots of shops without any violations or with tiny issues. For example, a 10-cent debt is a reason for permanent suspension, or stolen from an Etsy shop and posted on AliExpress photos are reasons for deactivation too. Some Ukrainian sellers can't give a fast response to your emails because they are under bombs and missiles every day. Their shops are suspended too because they are not as fast as you want. Most shops were suspended without any normal reason. The sellers can't understand why they have lost their business because they receive the emails that Etsy Team's decisions can't be discussed. At the same time, for most sellers, their shops are businesses of their lives.

Glad to hear more non-handmade items are being removed! Just curious — do these numbers include listings that were incorrectly removed by Etsy, only to be later reinstated?

Great news Team Etsy!!.. You are the flag bearer of Handmade product. Safe customer will ensure more engagement
