Meta is working on a wristband that can read your brain signals! Unlike Elon Musk's brain chip, this wouldn't be implanted. Instead, it would use your hand movements to control computers or even smart glasses, all by reading your thoughts?! I think he is talking about this device that Meta has been working on for years: https://lnkd.in/djvvz6Sh Could this be how we control technology in the future? Wasn’t this a kickstarter like 10 years ago? I still have my Myo arm bands. 🤷🏻♂️

It only reads EMG signals, so can sense motor control info, not technically reading your thoughts. 😉

Endrit Restelica careful with the leap you’ve taken there. Reading/sensing motor nerve impulses at your wrist is by no way an analysis of “thought”. It is a read on action already commenced. This is pretty far downstream, and by definition a relatively dumb terminal compared to implanted BCIs like Neuralink, which will ultimately be able to sense information structured within the cortex and other nearby bundles which could yield much higher order neural activity.

His idea is more metamucil at the moment. Present day sensors that read mechanical functions of a body at the moment is available off the shelf. Integrated devices that requires doctors intervention for functions control do exist. Getting to the point of a type of USB to Human Brain interconnect is a probability with a type of electrochemical gadget with a data language interpretation IC that converts analog to Boolean language. Sorry, but always start with the basics before using higher levels of program languages. The immediate benefits of said type of intervention would bring a new world to those handicapped people who presently have no ability to communicate but are alive in isolation of a nonfunctional body. I can see the merit of such a device! But as usual, there are those military individuals that look for a new device to integrate into the tools of Destruction . !!The Good and the Bad!!

I've been seeing more of these "emerging signals" for neurotrchnologies. I think it's a fascinating emerging field that will have vast societal impact in the near-term future.

Sure; because Meta knows interface design so well. Oops, I meant: "...because Meta knows the advertising value of adding metabolic & gestural data to users' profiles." Especially but not only for the pharma & healthcare verticals.

Watches can track vibration and movement patterns to discern activities. Some devices can also detect chemical changes in wrist perspiration.

Not surprised, soon will try to clone Morpheus 1 too 😂 However, at least with non invasive wearables it have it right https://youtu.be/JLtQZKV1UIs?si=lt3kDfiXvuzj0L9y

There was a company that put out such a device 10 years ago, not quite as sophisticated but it was out there. I have one sitting on the shelf, mainly because the software no longer works on latest OS. But def doesn’t read brain waves. Not sure this one will either. Closest to EEG on the market at a reasonable price is EMOTIV
