𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞 𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞 🥼 42 companies below with preclinical/clinical assets segmented by approach. Genome editing is certainly in it's early stages, with the majority of programs in the preclinical phase but has tremendous potential with more to come. 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫 as the field progresses include patient and indication selection, reimbursement challenges, CMC considerations, and safety concerns related to off-target effects as well as immunogenicity. However, the gene editing space is promising as seen through significant funding already raised by gene editing companies ($18 Billion since 2012) and moving forward there are few potential approvals coming in H2 2023.
