Last year in the exact same month i was an intern here in GREAT EASTERN, worried on what would my future be after i finish my internship... Who would have thought i work in the same company where i started my internship. Thank god for the opportunity given! Actually i have a list of goals and one of it would be to start my first job in the same company where i did my practical with, goal checked I'd say?! Although, I may not get my dream job yet (soon, insyaallah) but atleast i got to try new experiences and honing my soft skills. Nowadays, i can't deny that #freshgraduates cant be choosy in looking for #jobs though. I believe this is one of the process for me to get the job i wanted. As an impatient person, i can't wait around for too long for my dream job to accept me, while hunting for it i took the chance to accept any opportunity given and turned it into useful skills and values for my future job later, and im so glad that i took the risk! (I'm in the GE mall by the way hahah, right after the office hours i stroll around looking for foods to eat or another words would be "self reward" myself after work 😁) #sharingexperiences #freshgrad #opentowork

Shout out to those of us accepting internships that propel us into new aspects of our career journey! It's not easy calling yourself an "Intern" when you have over 20 years of work experience, but how else do you break into a new field in order to break that glass ceiling? I have over 20 years of executive management work experience, having worked as PR Manager, Marketing Manager, Operations Manager, Program Director and Creative Director. I am a Marketing Communications rockstar and Corporate Communications expert but I am determined to become a Sustainability Engagement expert within the Corporate Sustainability field and I will take every opportunity I get to learn, and apply what I already know to the new concepts I am being exposed to. Disclosures, ESG, Emissions reporting, sustainability frameworks, Managment practices are words in my vocabulary now, as I learn to speak the language, coupled with my familiarity of SDGs, Climate solutions, biodiversity, blue economy, green economy, climate smart practices, sustainable agriculture, sustainable finance practices, and many other grass root terms. So yeah.. I am an Intern, learning all the trends, building my portfolio and empowering my positioning. Word to the wise... As we move towards the end of January, and day by day the thought of Spring, lighter evenings and some warmer temperatures gets closer and closer, we will also be entering the time of year where we will be launching some exciting programmes here at Ecosulis. 🙌 In 2024 we will be launching our ever popular internship programme for the 4th consecutive year, as well as another fantastic programme 👀. Details will soon enough be revealed later on in February/early March 👏. Ahead of our launch dates, i just wanted to reach out to all graduates and early careers individuals who will be or thinking about applying for our internship programme, to start to have a think now about your application. So what i mean by this is looking at your current CV and covering letter and looking at how you can tailor this towards applying for our programme, and how this is presented. Over the past few years since we launched our programme, i have been privileged to receive and review so many insightful and inspiring applications with so many positive parts to highlight, but i have also received a few that could of really stood out but were just lacking a few key important details, that could of really made a difference. Here are some of my tips that could help anyone who will be looking to apply for our 2024 programme 😀 Make sure you highlight your current address or rough location onto your CV. Even though are internship is a remote opportunity, where you are based could make the difference in looking at where about within the business you could add value to, and also if you could attend any potential site visits, meetings or even spend time working on some of our projects. Showcase any relevant experience you have within the sector: So if you have conducted any relevant volunteering or seasonal positions with any other ecology or wildlife groups/organisations, and what were your main duties. Highlight in your CV and cover letter your main achievements so far to date: This can be work or personal related, but something you have done and gone above and beyond to achieve that you are proud of as an individual. Really focus on what your main key skills and personal attributes are, and ensure you cover these in your covering letter. When we are looking at applications, we don't just base our decision making on previous experience. Far from this actually, we are more interested on if someone holds the same core values as we do as an organisation. Make sure both your CV and covering letter are both presented in a professional and presentable manner. Really take time when putting your application, ensuring (i know this is an obvious one) but that there are no grammar mistakes. I hope this helps many of you moving forward, and will look forward to launching more information in due course. Farm Trans is constantly evolving: Coen has continued to work as a Fleet Assistant Analyst and we have started further research and implementation of Coen's research.
