A major reason for my move to LyondellBasell was to contribute more directly to #circularity. Coming from the #cpgindustry, I saw first-hand how consumers are increasingly scrutinizing #brands over their #sustainability efforts and the impact of that scrutiny on their #purchase behavior. I also gained a much greater appreciation for how hard it is to redesign packaging, the importance of drop-in solutions, and the need for close #collaboration throughout the #valuechain. With the launch of our new CirculenRecover grades of #recycled polymers, we are making it easier for brands to increase the recycled content of their #packaging, divert plastics that may have otherwise ended up in landfills, incinerators, or the ocean, and better deliver against the expectations of their #consumers. This is very exciting news for the team, and there is a lot more coming down the pike!
LyondellBasell Launches New Recycled Plastic Compounds to Help Businesses Go Circular LyondellBasell has launched eight new recycled plastic compounds to help businesses achieve circularity in their plastic packaging. The CirculenRecover compounds are made from up to 100% post-consumer recycled content and are designed to meet the performance requirements of many common applications. The new compounds are available now in North America. For more information, visit http://spr.ly/6040Psn16 #LyondellBasell #CirculenRecover #Sustainability #CircularEconomy #PlasticRecycling

Did you know that the deodorant industry is responsible for over 15 million pounds of plastic waste per year? Even some brands known for using natural ingredient formulas still package their products in plastic. But the industry is slowly transitioning to more sustainable packaging models, with several brands ditching single-use plastics in favor of recyclable and biodegradable options. ♻️ Take for example the brand Bai-Li and their innovative approach with cardboard push tubes. These zero-waste packaging options are fully biodegradable and compostable, and use labels made from sugarcane. 🌳 While many of the larger brands are still using plastics that are virtually impossible to recycle, being comprised of multiple types of plastics, there is a growing movement towards change. 🌎 Let's all do our part to reduce household plastic waste by making sustainable choices. #NoWasteNovember #Sustainability #Paper #Packaging

This is a far more complex decision than most people realize. Plastic bags cost much less than paper ones. The weight and volume of paper to plastic bags is about 11 to 1, meaning that it takes far more trucks to ship the same number of paper vs. plastic bags. In-store inventory holding costs and space use are significantly greater for paper bags as well. Am I saying that one is better than the other? No. But without a bigger picture, full lifecycle perspective, there is no easy-to-predict winner. #SPRING, #springpackarchive, #LCA, #sustainablepackaging
Reusable plastic bags a good option for consumers. Unfortunately the current reusable bags on the market are not circular, not recyclable, not used enough to mitigate their larger carbon footprint and more expensive to consumers than the Canadian made plastic 125 reusable bag that is recyclable and has recycled content. This is a great example of how food or beverage companies can make a sustainable change by reducing plastic waste. Many companies, including Valio, are making the switch from plastic containers to recyclable paperboard cups. In Valio's case, this change will result in 143 tonnes less plastic being used. So just imagine how big the impact could be if every company made a commitment to move away from plastic waste! Although recyclable paperboard cups may be slightly more expensive than plastic, making the change is definitely worth it. #PlasticWaste #WasteReducation #FoodAndBevSustainability

♻️ Recycling plastic is essential to preserve the planet and the natural resources at our disposal, playing a fundamental role in the circular economy. The fake news we hear the most on this issue, however, is that plastic is only minimally recycled, but is that really the case? @raccoltalagiusta helps us dispel this myth: "In Italy, the recycling of plastic packaging has been steadily increasing for years and allows saving the virgin raw material necessary for the production of new packaging. In 2021, 520 thousand tons of virgin material were saved, equivalent to the production of 11 billion plastic bottles. PET of 1 liter detergent." ♻️ Recycling plastic is therefore not only a consolidated reality, but it is even constantly increasing, which helps us not to waste virgin material and to save precious energy in the recycling process. #NTSmoulding #beyondmoulding #nts #ntssocialacademy #ntsacademy #coaching #emotionalintelligence #educare #PET #sustainability #raccoltalagiusta #circulareconomy #recycling

1moAmazing progress by De' Longhi! 🌱 It's not just about the quantity of recycled materials used, but also how it starts to shift consumer expectations. More companies need to follow this example - sustainability can be part of even premium products. Shows eco-friendly can be synonymous with quality! 👏
