It's so important that on #WorldMentalHealthDay we pause to recognize the needs of our communities. Not just today, but every day. And with higher rates of suicide and mental illness in our rural communities, where they also lack the ease of access to resources and assistance, we would be remiss not to shine a lens on those struggling.
Part of why we started the #MentalHealth series in 2023 was to help better understand how mental health impacts rural communities, what differences and challenges rural settings present to individuals suffering from #mentalillness, and how educators and #ruralnurses are working toward a creating better support and access for rural communities.
There are still five upcoming live mental health #webinars taking place over the next several weeks, including a QPR #SuicidePrevention Training Program.
There is also a series of on-demand webinars on the topic of mental health in rural settings that we encourage you to watch and share.
Please feel free to join us online by creating an account to connect and collaborate with members of the global health community so that together, we can work to provide better support, assistance and care to residents in rural areas.
