This article needs to be read in the context of a wider question about what exactly is the purpose of a school. If it is merely the imparting of knowledge then the article is right to strike an alarmed tone as we are rapidly heading for the world of Issac Asimov and The Fun They Had. However, for me, this is such a reductive view of a school's raison d'etre which ignores the anthropomorphic elephant in the room - humans, and the interactions between them which I don't feel will ever be replicated by machines. After all, however sophisticated AI becomes it remains, by definition, artificial.
