At the YJB, we’re committed to building a more inclusive digital experience for everyone. 🌍🤝 🤔 Did you know that 1 billion people globally experience some form of disability? But we can all help to break down barriers. Here are some ways you can make a difference. 👀 Visual impairments: add clear and concise alternative text to images so screen readers can describe them accurately. 🧠 Cognitive differences: use plain language and avoid jargon. Ask a colleague to check what you have written. Free online tools like Hemingway Editor can help. 🔗 Everyone: Make hyperlinks descriptive and explain where they lead.   No matter what role you have, you can champion accessibility. Accessible communication and training were giant gaps in my management experience and training. The more I learned about the functionality of my employees' basic accessibility needs, the more I realized how easy it could be to provide career-changing accommodations. Simply making presentations, e-mails, and web-based trainings accessible to every worker can make a world of difference in an employee's performance and engagement.
