From Maps to Graphs, Sets, and Strings, he tackled them all and moved to the next. 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝟮(DSA) After a quick intro, Mukul was questioned on DSA from C++ to Java, he proved his skills. He even built a stack using arrays! 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝟯(System Design): It also started with a small intro and led to a low-level design problem. Design the database for a school. Here, the Interviewer also asked questions giving different situations, while designing the database. After the explanation, asked some basic questions about projects and the workings of the BFS Algorithms. Ended with hashmaps (How data is stored in maps? & How do we avoid collisions?) 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝟰(HR): She asked some situational-based questions about internships and projects. After that, asked if there were any questions to ask & then the interview ended. If I were to appear for a Walmart interview now, this is how I would prepare as a fresher. (Btw, Walmart is still hiring, so you can use this as a guide) 📌 STEP-1: Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA) ✅ Will make sure i have ample practise of basic data structures and algorithms like Arrays, strings, stacks, queues, trees, linkedList, graph etc. ✅ Know how to code on a text editor like notepad or a google sheet. ✅ Practise the art of thinking out loud. Resources i will follow - NeetCode pvt. ltd., LeetCode, takeUforward 📌 STEP-2: Computer Fundamental subjects ✅ Will refresh the important topics from DBMS, SQL, OS, CN etc. ✅ Will look at the past patterns of questions asked from these subjects and align my preparation accordingly. ✅ Will read and understand the most asked questions from Glassdoor. Resources i will follow - Gate smasher YT channel, GFG archives, Glassdoor interview experiences. 📌 STEP-3: Resume ✅ Will make sure i have deep understanding of the projects mentioned. ✅ Will direct the discussion towards my area of expertise mentioned in resume. EQ Technologic visited our college (AIT-PUNE) for the placement drive 2023-24. They came up with two roles: the first one is Software Role (COMP/IT eligible), while the second one is Quality Assurance Engineer (COMP/IT/ENTC). Round 1 Aptitude (Online): The aptitude round consisted of 14 aptitude questions and 2 coding questions. Test was conducted on SHL Platform ( AMCAT ) Round 2 Technical Interview (Online MS Team , 1 hour): In the evening, I received a call from the interviewer that I cleared the first round, and he would schedule my interview for tomorrow (1 hour). The interview started with the interviewer saying, "You are looking so handsome." Me: "Hahahhahahaa." Basic introduction lasted for 3-4 minutes. Why C++? Explain OOPS? What are the four pillars of OOPS? Explain polymorphism with a real-world example? Explain types of inheritance? What is an access modifier? Explain the difference between protected and private access modifiers? He asked 1-2 questions which I had never heard of in OOPS, so I simply said, "Sorry, I didn't hear about these concepts," something like "What is diamond inheritance," not sure. Explain abstract and interface. Then he asked me to share my screen and gave me one coding question, which was to reverse a paragraph. e.g., Input: "your name is Vishal" Output: "Vishal is name your." He shared two puzzle questions with me in the chatbox. Write down an SQL query to update the address of a particular employee. Asked me to open Chrome in incognito mode and search for Gmail. Then the first page of Gmail loaded, which was "Sign-in." Then, the interviewer asked me to take 10 minutes and write down all the test cases that I could think of. Once done, let me know, and we will discuss them one by one. So, I took my time, wrote down all the test cases, and explained them to him. He shared one URL with me, https://lnkd.in/gavCZcpu, and asked me to explain this URL. He asked, "What is HTTP?" I told him the difference between HTTP and HTTPS, and he said, "Just tell me what HTTP is." He asked me if u hit any url and blank page loaded they what can be possible reason behind it. Open developer tools and explain the first five terms which were showing there: Elements, Console, Network, Performance, Application. Asked questions based on them. What is smoke testing? What is Regression Testing? Yeah, that's all. Then he gave me a chance to ask any questions if I had any. At the end, he was looking so impressed by me and said, "You have a very deep knowledge of everything." In the evening, I received another email for Round 3. Round 3 Technical Interview (Online Ms Team, 1 hour): He started with an introduction, then he asked about my experience so far, what questions were asked during the first round, who was my previous interviewer, and what questions I had discussed previously. He asked some questions based on my resume.

MY REFLECTIONS AFTER TAKING MY PERSONALITY TEST TODAY 17th May 2023 Today in my office, I sat down quietly and immersed myself in providing honest answers to the 16 personality types. Guess what my personality type was? BOOM!!! Personality type: Assertive defender (ISFJ-A). As an Assertive defender, I got these scores: introverted (58%), Observant (51%), Feeling (52%), Judging (60%), and Assertive (56%). Role: Sentinel. They are cooperative and practical, embracing and creating order, security, and stability. They are hard-working, meticulous, and traditional, preferring to stick to their plans. Strategy: Confident Individualism. They prefer doing things alone, choosing to rely on their own skills and instincts instead of seeking contact with other people. They know what they are good at. WHAT FELT ACCURATE? Indeed, I am introverted by nature and enjoy working independently, even though I am a good team player. I am meticulous and attentive to detail. I'm practical and therefore require empirical data to be able to properly execute my tasks. However, I base my decisions on feelings (52%) rather than thinking (48%). This will make me a better Software Developer (Dreamer) as it has "F" in its IT job matching (INFP) based on MBTI Personality Type. The gap here will be my 49% "Intuitive (N)" score and 40% "Perspective (P)" score. The soft skills I would have acquired in "Entrepreneurship Thinking" after the Foundation Program would improve my "Intuitive (N)" thinking to 52% and my "Perspective (P)" thinking to 50%. These are my predictions.   On the flip side, I see myself making decisions more on "Thinking" (52%) than "Feelings" (48%) after acquiring "Analytical Thinking" and "Quantitative Reasoning" skills in the Foundation Program. This will make me a better Data Scientist (The Examiner) as it has "T" in its IT job matching (ISTJ).  WHAT FELT AS A SURPRISE? Though I am an ALX Software Engineering student, I have a better score as a Data Scientist (54%) than a Software Developer (50%), based on my personality test score and IT Job for MBTI Personality Type. I leave it to the skills I would acquire in the Foundation Program to judge whether I should continue with Software Engineering or switch to Data Science. Recently I've started giving interviews - after a gap of almost 3+ years. During this time, I've seen that the interview landscape has completely changed for SDET/QA positions. SDET/QA's are now expected to solve almost the same level complex programming questions that some companies ask for Developers. At first it was a shock for me, but gradually I had to (rather unwillingly) start to solve these questions because most interviewers are expecting you to solve this otherwise the feedback is "Candidate is weak in programming" - and your candidature is rejected - sadly. Sharing few of the questions that I've been asked as of now - I was able to solve most of them, barring a few - but I guess a lot of folks won't be able to solve them - 1. Given an array, find the kth largest element from an array - optimised solutions  2. Given a string , find which bank has 4th largest deposits. [BankA$151.54B, BankB$81.4B, BankC$1$524.2B, BankD$2.54B, BankE$44.23B, BankF$124.54B, BankG$12.21B ] If two banks have same number of deposits, consider only one value. 3. Given an array, find the maximum possible combinations of triangle. 4. Given a string, remove any character that appears more than once in the string. 5. Given a string, reverse the string, keeping the space position intact. 6. Count the numbers of prime numbers from 1 to N, using most optimised way. 7. Given a string, find the longest palindrome substring. 8. How can you print a Pascal's triangle. 9. Given an array of integers, validate if that array is a valid mountain array. 10. If the above array is a valid mountain array, then find the peak index. 11. Given a string (e.g "this is first sentence. this is second. And this is third"). Write a method that will return an array of hashmaps such that each hashmap in array will be 1 sentence and every hashMap will contain (word number, word) of that sentence. 12. How can you implement mergesort using recursion. 13. Given a string "Hello! How are you :) I am great :D" considering :) and :D as smileys, print the count of smileys as 2 14.
