Finally coming back up for air after this DEEP dive. This is the third video of my accidental market research -- asking whether and how trans, non-binary, and genderfluid people choose new names. Now no-contact from my transphobic, abusive parents, I was shocked by the number of folks who involved parents in the renaming process -- or let them choose entirely! And, why hadn't anyone mentioned turning to trans history and culture and chosen family for name ideas? For when you have a half hour to spare. https://lnkd.in/ehziaPbp #trans #translivesmatter #blacktranslivesmatter #blackpower #selfdefinition #selfdetermination #blackfeminism #lgbt #lgbtq #lgbtqi #queer #transition #namechange #names #transrightsarehumanrights #transpower #transliberation #transjustice
Why aren't there more trans women named after Marsha P. Johnson?

This International Women’s Day, Kutak Rock’s Women’s Initiative invites women and female-presenting persons to reflect on this year’s theme, “Inspire Inclusion.” When we remove barriers to inclusion and put systems in place to support women, we create an environment and culture where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. It’s not enough to eliminate discrimination. True inclusion requires equity and an awareness of intersectionality—equity for women of color, disabled women, queer women, caretaking women, neurodivergent women, pregnant women, women veterans, and those who identify as women. How will YOU inspire inclusion today? #KutakRock #InspireInclusion #IWD #inclusion #equity #women

Happy Women's History Month! March is a month to celebrate women's incredible contributions and achievements throughout history. And, as we honor the trailblazers who have paved the way for progress and equality, it's important to remember that women have always been a diverse and multifaceted group of individuals. This Women's History Month, let's celebrate not only the accomplishments of cisgender women, but also those of non-binary individuals and transgender women, who have often been overlooked and excluded from mainstream narratives of women's history. Most importantly, let's continue to support and uplift each other in pursuing a more inclusive and equal future for all. Because when we recognize and celebrate the diversity and strength of all women and non-binary individuals, we create a more just and equitable world for everyone. #WomensHistoryMonth #GenderInclusive #InclusionMatters #wgf #womenempowerment #womensupportingwomen #womeninbusiness #herstory #equity #genderequality

Today and every day, let's honor the strength, courage, and achievements of women around the world. 💪👩⚖️🌍 At Efluenz, we believe in standing together in solidarity with women, advocating for equality and justice in every aspect of life. Since our inception in 2018, Efluenz has been a steadfast supporter of women in the professional world. With 94% of our employees being female, gender equality isn't just a goal for us, it's a reality. 💼👩💼 Our CEO, Yasmin Vantuykom , embodies the spirit of boldness and determination, navigating the challenges of entrepreneurship while championing the advancement of women in our industry. Yasmin's commitment to empowering women extends beyond rhetoric. She actively fosters an environment where women are given equal opportunities for growth and development. Whether it's providing opportunities to promising interns or recruiting talented graduates, we prioritize leveling the playing field for all women. But our dedication to women's empowerment goes beyond our internal practices. We recognize the importance of fundamental rights for all individuals, including protection from violence and discrimination, access to quality education and healthcare, property rights, the right to vote, and fair compensation for their work. 👩⚖️📚🏠💰 In addition to our commitment, we're inspired by the impactful initiatives of organizations like CPB London and Amnesty International . CPB London's campaign for International Women's Day 2024, advocating for changes to the law on affirmative consent in the UK, is a powerful example of using creativity to drive social change. Similarly, Amnesty International's march to call for the complete decriminalization of abortion in Belgium underscores the importance of advocating for women's reproductive rights. Together, let's invest in women and accelerate progress towards a future where every woman has the opportunity to realize her potential. 🚺✨ #InternationalWomensDay #Equality #Empowerment
