Practical training is an essential part of any student's studies. It provides valuable insights into the real-world and a connection to the industry of your choice. ✨🤩 TAMK's Talent Boost program and the Tampere Chamber of Commerce have come together to create solutions to make sure international students can find the right companies to implement their internships. Visitations to companies can help to open many doors as the students and companies can exchange information about the skills needed in working life. 🚪🤓 #PracticalTraining #Internship #TAMKTalentBoost #TampereChamberofCommerce #InternationalStudent Tampereen kauppakamari

Why we need incessant career coaching & mentoring for Professionals? (1) Upon enrolling in college, some Undergraduates may stumble into dilemma of pursuing the subject or switch to other field of study. They need to consult any Senior Professionals in deriving for the best decision. (2) During college years, the Undergraduates may have to decide where would be the ideal companies for their Internship Programs. So far the longest duration of Internship program is under UTP; whereby some of the Undergraduates may opt to embark their Internship at any of Petronas Plants for 8- month duration. That's appropriate for them to acquire knowledge and practical experiences and to broaden their network amongst the Senior Professionals. (3) Upon graduation, the Graduates need to consult again the Senior Professionals for interviewing for Protégé Programs or any of permanent positions in the Industries. (4) Upon getting the job, the Young Professionals need to consult the Senior Professionals for advices and guidances frequently. (5) Then the Young Professionals may struggle in closing technical gaps, passing any assessments, pursuing career path & progressions. (6) Later on the Professionals need to consult the Senior Professionals for guidances in pursuing any of their industrial certificates of competencies. (7) Without proper strategies, some Professionals may end up being complacent, demoralised, stressful. (8) Bear in mind that even certain GM, CEO and VP need mentors for their career enhancements and progressions. For further deliberations, let chill out over coffee sessions huh. Hahahahaha.

What is the best strategy for a successful cooperative / industry placement / summer internship training? This question has been popping up frequently in my mind. To find the best answer, I visited few companies in the Riyadh area to seek their feedback on this exasperating question! Throughout the discussions I had with many people, I could make a good grasp about the best approach for a successful cooperative / industry placement / summer internship training: 1. University faculty (yes! Not students) should spend at least one summer at a host company to get acquainted with the main problems students will be working on. 2. Based on this summer interaction, the faculty will offer a course to the students planning to embark on the cooperative / industry placement / summer internship training. This course should be offered as a technical elective (a special topics course is the best means!) where students are exposed to the problems, they will be addressing during their training period. 3. The University faculty should prepare a detailed plan for the problems he/she would like to work on in collaboration with the host company. 4. The training plan should be treated like an abiding contact between the trainee and the host company. 5. The trainee student should know exactly what is expected from him/her the minute he/she steps a foot in the host company. 6. Host company should allocate a decent compensation to the trainees. This compensation will send a clear message to the trainee: 1. Your work is valuable to the company. 2. You will be held responsible for the decent money you will get. 7. The trainee progress should be monitored closely through: 1. Weekly progress reports submitted to the company and the faculty in charge of the training. 2. A private blog maintained by the trainee and accessible only to the mentor(s)/supervisor(s) at the host company and the faculty in charge of the training. 3. Monthly visit to the host company by the faculty in charge of the training. 8. Maintain a black-list of companies who do not properly honor their commitment to the trainee in terms of: 1. Quality of work assigned. 2. Proper on-site supervision. 9. Up-to-date peer evaluations: 1. Trainee. 2. Mentor/supervision at host company. 3. the faculty in charge of the training. 10. Graduation event: A main event hosted at the University where all host companies will be invited to commemorate the training completion where trainees will showcase their training achievements. Best trainees will be rewarded by university and host companies.

URGENT HELP NO LONGER NEEDED - THANK YOU A contact of mine, Peter Corbishley of Principia School of Language, runs a programme for apprentices with BASF in Germany to visit Worcester for a month. This involves an internship with a local business for a month or split between two businesses. 2 of the 3 apprentices arriving shortly already have placements (with Southco) but he needs a placement for the 3rd apprentice. Accommodation and the cultural/social sides of the visit are already organised. The apprentices arrive on 2nd March. The apprentice is called Jan Ströbel (aged 20) and his introductory letter is below. Please message me if you can help (or know someone that can) and I'll put you in touch with Peter. It would be a great shame if the Worcestershire business community cannot find something useful for this young guy to do during his visit from Germany. Sharon Smith Robert Elliot Robert Capper Gary Woodman Mike Forrester CMgr MA Richard Soper CBE Ben Mannion Louise Hewett DL Massimo Fumarola Jonathan Wells #apprenticeships #foreignexchange Jan Ströbel Geibelstraße 47, 67063 Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany | +49 1525 3872846 | [email protected] Re: Application for a four-week internship in Worcester Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, 18th January 2024 The primary motivation behind my application for this internship is to enhance my English language skills. I believe that an immersive experience in an English-speaking environment will provide me with the ideal setting to improve my language proficiency. Moreover, Worcester is the perfect place with its rich history and vibrant culture for personal development. I am excited of exploring the city with its residents to gain a deeper understanding for the local culture. This experience will expand my horizon and provide valuable insights which I will take with me when I return to Germany. Thanks to my work experience at BASF SE Ludwigshafen and the different departments I worked in, I gained skills in commercial activities. I learned project management by preparing and holding online conferences with international partners from BASF. I gained skills in marketing by working at trade fairs in a HR department and thereby convinced people to apply to BASF. In Supply Chain Management I conducted routine tasks like transport booking and working directly with international partners every day. In my free time, I like to go to the gym, meet up with my friends and like to travel. Besides that I have a passion for cars because of their history, technology and the joy of driving. I went to many car museums like Porsche in Stuttgart, Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart and BMW in Munich to learn more about different car models, the technology and the brand itself or researched the information by myself (via videos, internet etc.). Please contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Sincerely, Jan Ströbel

Crucial points to consider concerning individuals with job skills but lacking a formal degree - (if ada peluang belajar tu, belajar lah dik 😀) Value of Skills: Skills, whether acquired through formal education or not, are essential assets in the job market. Individuals with relevant, well-practiced skills can still make significant contributions in their work environment. : : Experience and Practice: Individuals without a degree often gain practical experience through internships, field employment, or hands-on training. This experience provides a comprehensive understanding of the tasks and challenges that exist in the field. : : Self-Learning Ability: Individuals without a formal degree may have developed a strong self-learning ability to acquire skills through books, online courses, video tutorials, or mentorship. A willingness to continue learning and improving is crucial in developing skills. : : Flexibility: Individuals with skills but without a degree are typically more adaptable to changes and new demands in the workplace. Their ability to adapt and acquire new skills as needed is a significant advantage. : : Proof of Performance: These individuals must showcase their work results and achievements to potential employers or business partners to prove their abilities. : : Other Learning Opportunities: While lacking a formal degree, these individuals can still take advantage of distance or part-time education courses to improve their knowledge and expertise. It's essential to recognize that both experience and formal education hold value in an individual's career. Each person has their own advantages and disadvantages, and it's crucial to acknowledge the value they bring to the table, even without a formal degree. #connections #valueyourself #knowledgeispower #experience #careergrowth #tetraexponus #trainer #professionaldevelopment
