At the Museum of Lompoc, Rand Lara, Facilities Manager for BayWa r.e., spent time connecting with the community and talking about Strauss, the first wind farm on California’s coast! From sharing the journey behind the construction of Strauss to discussing the economic impact benefits, this event highlighted the importance of partnerships and teamwork. We are grateful for every chance to connect with the community and talk about how we can work together for a better future. I was in NYC today for the #skiftglobal forum speaking about sustainability and the 9-acre wood roof at PDX. The Port approached this project so differently, by setting ambitious sustainability and equity goals. Pretty cool that we were invited to share what we accomplished together as a region with travel leaders around the world. We talked specifically about the power of local on the path to sustainability, and I was able to tell the story of the thousands of people contributing to this incredible project from around the Pacific Northwest.
