Do you ever worry about what other people think about you? I used to be convinced that as soon as I walked out of a room the knives came out. And so, I built a very protective fortress by way of self talk to keep myself from my perceived enemies. Here are some of my old armour statements.. 🔐 It’s not safe to celebrate myself. I laugh too much, people find it irritating Nobody likes a show off. Wind your neck in Nina before someone snaps it off for you. I honestly thought in order to stay safe I should underplay my achievements and joyful moments. That if I stayed just under the radar, and was ‘humble’ then I wouldn’t come across as ‘too much’ or a ‘threat’ by anyone else. But here’s the truth. It really hurt. I was silencing myself. Censoring my incredible energy and infectious enthusiasm for life. It slowly munched away at me from the inside and I started to become someone I wasn’t, in order to make myself fit in. It’s a losers game. One that I am committed to working tirelessly on myself with and one that many of my clients struggle with. How can I be me and please others. It’s simple. By being you, you will attract people into your life who accept you exactly as you are. They love your presence and your quirks because they have them too. You create a safe place for them to be loud and goofy or quiet and quirky when you become fully loving and accepting of you. If we are trying to change who we are in order to make other people accept us, then we will never be ourselves. Learning to deeply and completely embrace all parts of who we are, warts and all, is the greatest gift we can give to any one we happen to be with. I’m celebrating the fact that I’m celebrating myself.. Daily. Loudly Proudly And.. I’m in a place where I get to support so many others to do the same. What if Jealousy, Anger, Sadness, Impatience, Surprise, Calmness, Satisfaction, Joy and many others are our best buddies? How would you treat them when they appear? Begin a conversation with them as if they're your best buddies and great insights will surprise you. From a position of curiosity and gratitude, start with questions like ; 1) how're you? 2) where have you been? 3) what are your messages for me? 4) how can we work together to support my journey? LISTEN intently and know that you're the decision maker. When I saw the food after my 5 days detox, I resisted the first temptation but took the second. Hello Resistance and Frustration, how're you? There are many ways to make the most of your legacy. Getting your money and things to the right people is part of it, but one thing I like to stress with clients is their emotional legacy.
