☀Three Lessons I learned from my Summer Student
Serendipitously, I had the good fortune of being paired with a phenomenal summer intern, Priyanka Rao, a 2nd year Applied Math and Computer Engineering Student at Queen's University. Here are three lessons I learned.
Be Like Water – I witnessed Bruce Lee’s famous quote in real time. Just flow. When faced with a new task, when bumping up against a brick wall, when needing to pivot at the drop of a hat, she masterfully did it with ease.
Creativity meets Engineering – Strengths in digital, data, and design, she had it all. Be it fresh ideas for my 212 Financial Literacy Series, or teaching me about algorithms, automation and technological application, she brought innovation to the team.
Laugh More – Similar to an undergraduate degree in Applied Math and Computer Engineering, navigating through the ever-evolving investment landscape, conducting research daily, and building portfolios for clients requires attention to detail, analytical skills, and strong technical knowledge. Regardless of the task at hand she taught me to bring a good dose of daily endorphins to everything we do.
I thank my lucky stars to have had the opportunity to work with such an impressive young lady. My heart is full❤️
