Yesterday was our 15th annual Blizzard Fun Run! 🏃♂️ 💙
In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, our global Blizzard Fun Run is a time for our teams to come together to invest in their well-being and have an amazing time while doing it!
Managing Director @ LSW London | On a Mission to make Mental Health & Wellbeing Tools Accessible to Everyone | We are raising 🚀
We’re doing what we can to get moving! 🚶♀️ 🏃♀️ 🕺
The theme of Mental Health Awareness Week this year is ‘Movement: Moving more for our mental health’
While this is perhaps not the most inclusive theme for such an important moment in the mental health calendar - my family is blessed with being able the move around.
⚽️ Last week, we took Cassius (our son) to a local football match (Farsley vs Buxton in the last game of the season for the National League North). As a late walker (he started walking at 25 months!) we’re keen to encourage Cass to get running around and taking part in team sports from a young age 🥅
Lili and I recently started running together every Tuesday and Friday morning just after we drop Cassius at nursery. We’ve now done over 40 runs together since starting five months ago and recently started doing parkrun 🏃♀️🏃🏃♂️
🏢 We’ve also renewed our efforts in walking to and from the LSW London headquarters each and every day (as well as getting out for a stroll every lunchtime).
🗓️ What are you doing to getting moving this Mental Health Awareness Week and how will you be making this a habit that sticks throughout the rest of the year (and beyond)?
I’d love to hear what you have planned and how you’ll be implementing positive changes in your workplace.

It’s Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW), a subject that the team are extremely proud to support year-round. With this year’s theme ‘Movement: Moving more for our mental health’, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to get together as a group and take advantage of a sunny Macclesfield day.
The team, all ‘wearing it green’ (the colour synonymous with the cause) took a stroll from LOVELIVE HQ and up Macclesfield’s historic 108 Steps. Fun fact! Legend has it that if you can make it up to the top while holding your breath, your wish will come true. It’s safe to say that most of us just wished we’d make it up there quickly and in one piece, which you can see from the photos we took!
How are you supporting the Mental Health Foundation for MHAW? We’d love to find out. Our Mental Health First Aider, Jenny Byard has written a poem in honour of this week’s event:
Movement is what we do,
Every single day,
But this week we move with purpose,
We move in a different way.
It's a time to be aware,
A time to be seen,
A time to show our support,
A time when we wear green.
We move to support a cause,
One that's at its peak,
One we support quite strongly,
It's Mental Health Awareness Week.

Why is my mental health so affected
by the seasons?
Simple, right?
Winter = cold, wet, dark, can’t get out.
Bad.
Summer =. warm, dry, light, out all the time.
Good.
But this doesn’t help us.
Not really.
This feels fatalistic,
as if we’re waiting for the sun to come out
to be at our best.
Not a great prospect in the UK
where “summer” has been renamed
“Remember that Thursday?”
Try this:
Fight the seasonal blues
by having a list of seasonal things
to look forward to.
These are mine for this season:
-Devon bluebell "bagging" (Killerton, Morganhayes, Holwell Lawn)
-Making wild garlic pesto
-Curry on the beach after a swim (Teignmouth)
-Taking photos of birds in Yarner and Stover Woods
-Dawn chorus in Ashclyst Forest (very loud!)
-Watching the martins' aerial acrobatics over the River Otter (Newton Poppleford)
-Farmhouse breakfast from Coldharbour Farm Field Kitchen (Ottery St Mary) overlooking the valley.
What will yours be?
____
I’m Ben.
Yes. Farmhouse breakfast should've been at the top.
Also this season
my focus is to deliver
training in mental health
that is trusted, tailored
and transformative.
For life and all its seasons.
DM me with your questions.
Looking forward to it!

I’m excited to share that I'll be embarking on a new 100-day challenge, and I invite you all to join me! 🎉 Starting on July 21, I'll be exploring my mental health journey, touching on a broad range of topics from personal triumphs and struggles to self-discovery and resilience.
This challenge is more than just sharing stories—it's about learning, growing, inspiring, and understanding each other better. We'll be digging deep, asking difficult questions, and celebrating victories, no matter how big or small. Each day, I'll be posting a new prompt for us to reflect on and discuss.
This challenge isn't about having a perfect journey, but about being real, raw, and vulnerable. It's about embracing our journeys, understanding our growth, and acknowledging that it's okay to not be okay.
Remember, everyone's journey is unique—there’s no right or wrong way to experience or cope with mental health issues. This challenge is about sharing, supporting, and growing together. So, whether you're comfortable sharing your experiences or simply want to follow along and learn, all are welcome.
I hope you'll join me in this introspective and eye-opening journey. Let's grow, learn, and navigate this path together, one day at a time. Let's shine a light on mental health, one story at a time. Stay tuned for more details!

What happens when 2 decades of entrepreneurial experience 🤝 executive level coaching? Me! Pure business joy, let me help you find yours!
Asking yourself the right question can get some amazing results.
So here's a tiny bit of the group coaching I did with Mint Business Club members this morning.
1. Write down your top three values (personal or business cos we are small business owners so have wibbly boundaries) Do not overthink this, the first three out of your head are fine!
2. What habits/behaviours are you engaging in that support or demonstrate these values?
3. What habits/behaviours are you engaging in that sabotage these values?
Each week I go live and we do a group coaching session with the members, I ask questions and they join in on the chat. This is not just connection and community, although that helps. It's doing the deep work and learning self-coaching skills that protect your mental health and keep you motivated and consistent.
If you want to join us there are spots available!
PS. Tomorrow we are vision setting our year together at Ouseburn farm, sharing lunch and walking goats!

For Mental Health Awareness Week I’m re-sharing my A to Z of reasons to sing (though there are many more).
Singing - particularly with others - has the capacity to support our physical, mental and social health.
It’s sociable, it’s joyful and it’s fun - and the benefits are widely supported by thousands of scientific studies.
And it’s for EVERYONE (yes you!).
If you’d like to more about the holistic benefits of singing, check out my TEDx talk ‘How Singing Brings People Together.’
And get in touch if to find out how I can help you harness the power of singing at your next events, conference or away day.
My DMs are open.
Let’s keep singing.

💚 Mental Health Awareness week approaches, starting tomorrow and while this is a week to generate conversations and awareness it may also be a week that some find a challenge.
💚 I know I find it difficult opening up about my own mental health challenges without feeling it is rooted in stigma. Alas, a lot of years of self reflection and work has brought me to a point where I now feel I can share my voice more than ive felt able to, we are all here talking and voicing the importance of this week no matter our circumstances and I matter. You matter.
💚 And if sharing my voice and raising awareness can brighten one person's day or help signpost them in the right direction or even help them reflect on their own challenges , then I know this work is all worth while! It always is , no matter how shakey my voice is. We got this.
💚 I'm looking forward to sharing the mental health packs that ISS have generated for our Placemakers , with the Supervisors tomorrow and celebrating, talking about and raising awareness on this very important week ahead.
💚 I'm particularly looking forward to 16th where we will 'Wear it Green' to show our solidarity for those suffering and overcoming challenging times.
✨️ Let's talk.
✨️ Let's make a difference
✨️ Let's raise awareness
