Why to show love or respect to someone just once a year? Restaurants get packed for Mothers’ Day or, a bit less, for Fathers’ Day, just to point out a couple of celebrations. It is true that it is super powerful to make a stop and celebrate and reinforce awareness at least once a year, but the question that comes up is “what about the rest of the year?”; we are talking about 364 other days.
Well, the Pride Month is just about to close, and I encourage people to realize this is the moment where proactive action and intentionality really needs to start. This is the moment to show up as real Allies, this is the moment to be more aware than ever of discriminatory practices, aggressions, and micro aggressions. Even when we will find less communication around this topic and will host less events with this focus over the next 11 months, respect, support, awareness, celebration, inclusion as such, cannot stop now.
I invite… well I rather challenge you all to take action today and think Inclusively over the next 11 months. Keep raising your voice, keep celebrating Diversity, keep bringing to life actions and practices that make this world more inclusive every single day.
