Throwback memories!!!!!! I remember the Lockheed Martin Owego facility where it was very tough for me to find talent to fulfill my clients' needs. Recruiters started declining the requisitions, and slowly, they started losing interest in working on those requirements associated with that particular location. But yet another day came, and we fulfilled one high-end role for that location, and then everything changed. We used to get plenty of placements from that location and very quick feedback from the hiring manager who was associated with that facility. Now, I find myself in a similar situation; the only difference is that the location is Waterloo, IA, and with a different client. However, I am sure that my team and I will overcome this, just as we did previously. Later, I realized it's not the problem of that location or facility; it's the approach and way of hunting talent, and our negotiation skills matter. "Remember, if not you, someone else will definitely do it." "So our attitude should be if not others, I will definitely do it, I will surely make it happen." #receuitment #recruiting #staffingindustry #lockheedmartin #tekwissen #usstaffing #usstaffingjobs #newyorkjobs #usa #waterlooregion #iowajobs

Placing Top Talent w/ Early Stage ClimateTech Startups for a Fraction of the Cost //AND// Co-Hosting CleanTechies Podcast🎙️
Yesterday I had a conversation with a job seeker about what CT companies are looking for when it comes to #talent. He was asking if they are open to hiring folks who come from a non-CT background. The answer, as with almost everything in life is, it depends. He also asked if a CT company would prefer to hire someone from a totally different CT vertical versus a conventional company...again, it depends. The rule to use would be this: What does the company hiring aim to achieve through hiring this person? ie: What is the job to be done (to borrow from Clayton Christensen). If the company is a carbon capture technology and the application is in the concrete space, they might be looking to hire someone directly from the concrete industry rather than someone from another similar company even, depending on the circumstances. Takeaway: as you're looking for a job in #ClimateTech, be sure to understand the job to be done and the specific items that would be of value to the employer. That is where you'll fit well and as a result where you will get the most traction. #Hiring #ClimateTechRevolution

See your dream job but don’t meet the requirements? Apply anyway. Just do it. What’s the worst that can happen? I once cold DM’d the CPO of a unicorn startup because he was looking for a chief of staff. I didn’t meet their years of experience requirement but I wrote about why I’d be a good fit. He replied instantly and asked me to send my CV directly to his work email. The interview got scheduled in just a couple days later. I didn’t get the job in the end, but hey, at least he gave me a shot. #jobinterviews #productmanagement

Apply to the job anyways even if you don’t think you meet the qualifications. There’s no perfect candidate. When I saw Lockheed Martin job posting for a recruiter position, there were hundreds of applicants for the role and I didn’t think I had a shot. My therapist however convinced me to try anyways and that I was more than capable that I gave myself credit for. I ended up getting an interview and the entire time I convinced myself that I was still not going to get selected. I only had 1 year of experience, no degree, and gaps. However I ended up advancing to the second round and got the offer on the spot. I’ve been here for over a year now and if there’s anything I can tell you is that don’t take yourself out of the running because chances are you’ll end up winning the race. You never know if you don’t apply and you never know that you could be the candidate they are looking for. There’s no perfect candidate ❤️

Apply to the job anyways even if you don’t think you meet the qualifications❗️ This was advice I needed to see, TODAY Even though I was someone who grinding through college to get 3 internships and nearly 20 professional certifications, I constantly talk myself out of applying to roles that would be a good fit I think, I don’t have enough experience or I didn’t apply RIGHT after the job was posted so I probably won’t get a chance But those are all shots that I never took No one knows how far I would have actually gotten if I just applied There’s a statistic that women only apply to roles that they’re 100% qualified for vs men apply to roles they’re 60% qualified Whether that’s still true - females, new grads, everyone - believe in yourself, apply to that job anyways ⭐️ #postgraduation #newgrads #justdoit
