❗📢 Attention Everyone 📢❗ The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), formerly known as the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (ADP), has been facing scrutiny for its inadequate oversight of addiction treatment facilities. ❌ In recent years, DHCS has been criticized for: 👎 Failing to thoroughly investigate complaints about addiction treatment facilities. 👎 Neglecting to take enforcement action against addiction treatment facilities that violate state regulations. 👎 Inadequate oversight of sober homes, resulting in heartbreaking overdose deaths. 😔 These failings have a direct impact on the lives of individuals battling addiction. 😞 We demand that DHCS take immediate steps to enhance its oversight of addiction treatment facilities. 💪 Here are some measures DHCS can take to improve its oversight: ✅ Expand the number of staff members responsible for investigating complaints about addiction treatment facilities. ✅ Develop a more stringent process for investigating complaints about addiction treatment facilities. ✅ Take strict enforcement action against addiction treatment facilities that violate state regulations. ✅ Increase the number of audits in addiction treatment facilities in California. By implementing these steps, DHCS can contribute to ensuring that addiction treatment facilities in California provide high-quality care and that individuals struggling with addiction have access to the support they need. 💊 #DHCS #AddictionTreatment #Oversight #California #Recovery For further information, please visit the following links: 2018 report by the state auditor: https://lnkd.in/g6KSNDA8: https://lnkd.in/g6KSNDA8 2019 lawsuit against DHCS: https:// https://lnkd.in/ganAP3rH: https://lnkd.in/ganAP3rH 2020 report by the Kaiser Family Foundation: https://lnkd.in/gdJ8teCv: https:// https://lnkd.in/gdJ8teCv
