This past Sunday marked Mother's Day, a celebration for which I both gave and received congratulations. For the past three years, this day has also been a celebration of my own journey into motherhood. Motherhood is not just filled with joy; it's hard work, particularly when juggling it with a career. I want to express my gratitude to my Stripo team and to Ольга Оникиенко for raising such an important topic: how to maintain a balance between being a devoted mother and advancing professionally. As I am in the vacation mode, I'm filled with profound gratitude for the abundant blessings in my life. Nearly 25 years of marriage have woven a tapestry of love, growth, and unwavering support with my incredible husband. Our three remarkable children are the heartbeats of our existence. One is navigating the beautiful chaos of motherhood, a journey I watch with awe and pride. Another is diligently pursuing her passion for law, immersing herself in the world of paralegal studies. And the youngest, with her boundless energy and infectious laughter, is embracing the simple joys of childhood, excelling in school and finding her own path through Girl Scouts. Our journey, spanning two states, offers us the gift of exploration and connection, enriching our lives in ways we never imagined. Yet, amidst the abundance, there's a quiet call to introspection. Regularly taking stock of our lives allows us to discern what truly matters, what deserves our energy and attention, and what it's time to release. So, as I pause to reflect, I'm committed to nurturing the bonds that enrich our family while releasing the clutter – the unnecessary worries, the outdated expectations, and the self-imposed limitations. This journey of self-discovery isn't a one-time event but a continual process of renewal and realignment. Here's to embracing the journey, counting our blessings, and having the courage to let go of what no longer serves us. Mother's Day. Definition of Motherhood. How would you define "motherhood"? Everyone would perhaps have quite different answer. Personally, I define motherhood as the act of giving yourself to another who depends on you for as long as it takes. Motherhood starts for some when we rescue someone, when we plant a plant or at conception. Regardless of how motherhood begins and regardless of how it may be defined and described, one thing remains: motherhood starts and ends with love and care. We become mothers when we offer love for the other to blossom. Celebrate motherhood with me. We all remember images of Father Time and Baby New Year, right? Hopefully most of us do? Or else that makes ME Mother Time! Anyway, these images symbolize the end of one year and the beginning of the next. The passing of one year and the birth of the new one. I’m a sucker for symbolism.
