"Awards don't make you better at what you do" - quote from Glenda Jackson, who passed away today, aged 87. She was talking about awards for acting. She didn't get awards for being an MP! I wondered on the views on awards in business - she's right, an award doesn't make you better at what you do, it provides (some) recognition which adds to publicity and marketing and influence to others. What benefits have you seen from winning, and possibly, for being nominated without winning? #awards #marketing #business

Miley Cyrus is now a 2-time Grammy award winner. I know, here comes all of the what does this have to do with LinkedIn comments. Think about the transitions that Miley has made in her young career already. -Child TV star -Young musician doing what she was told to do -Rebelling against what was expected -Finding her way and herself -Being judged for growing up in the spotlight -Relationship issues -Figuring it all out and doing her best work -Recognized for her work at the highest level of her industry Now think about how none of us want to be judged on what we did while we were young and trying to figure things out. We want to hide the mistakes and bad choices that we made, but those are lessons that lead us to where we are going. Each of us is going through a stage of this transition process. Do not let today’s frustrations stop you from reaching your goals. Keep working on yourself and getting out there every day to become the version of you that you want to be. Success is out there. You must be willing to go through the process to earn it. #success #transition #goals #careersuccess #enjoythejourney #growth

Helping Highly Sensitive female business owners thrive without exhaustion, so they have the time, energy & headspace to have more fun | 100 day Personalised Magnificent Journey Package $4997 | Podcast - Bounce Out Of Bed
"The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate." In every 1 on 1 client session, we begin with pausing for applause. Stopping to celebrate the wins. All the good things. All the things they navigated. What astounds me is how much our brains are wired to negative thought and for busy, ambitious women, the to-do list is endless. You get to the end of the day and instead of saying ‘F*%k I’m awesome, you think of all the things you STILL have to do. It’s exhausting. The more you pause for applause the more you find to pause for applause for! I see it every time. In ‘Your Magnificent Journey’, my 1 on 1 90 day signature program, each online session begins with a pause for applause, without fail. And what I see is how excited my clients get when they get to stop and think about what they DID do. And… how the list grows so much over the time we work together. What you focus on expands. Of course it’s not the only thing we do, but it’s one of the things past clients say had a big impact. What ways do you stop to pause for applause and celebrate things?

Today hit different - Was at the Long Service Award ceremony, held to felicitate employees who served 15 20 25 years in the organisation. What struck me the most was how each of the Awardees was filled with gratitude for the organisation, their colleagues and seniors. How for some employment with the organisation meant the world and more & how working in the organisation led to so many wonderful things in their lives. Some choking with emotion & some at a loss of words while recounting the trials tribulations blood sweat & tears & of how they ultimately triumphed to be where they are. How everyone’s families expressed their unflinching love and adulation for the organisation with several wife’s going to the extent of confessing that the organisation is their husbands’ first love. Now the point of the post is this - In today’s day & age of corporate employment, it’s quite rare for so many people staying within an organisation for such long period of time. As much for management team of the business to not just be involved in every bit of the ceremony to enthusiastically welcome the Awardees and their families. The whole vibe in that hall was just so much warm & filled with bonhomie. Smiles & handshakes all around, fond recollection of memories & eager anticipation for the future. I am not too much k to cliches’ but as it goes - A big happy family rejoicing together. So there’d be ‘something’ surely which all of these guys would have found in the organisation & decided not to consider moving away over so many years. Note that such awards are held across businesses every year or may be twice, with an ever growing list of Awardees. Now the clincher - each of these guys having accumulated a wealth of experience over long arduous years becoming an expert in their domain there are enough opportunities going around. So really, this ‘something’ which each of these guys found to stay on in the organisation, must surely be their complete single & absolute calling for it takes real conviction to disregard the lure of the lucre. On the contrary to my thought process & confidence of having earned best experience to be able to read things & circumstances, there is much & more left to be figured out here - in this storied organisation. PS1 - There is another category of 30 35 40 + Years 😀 PS2 - Missed the presence of a respected senior colleague at the event today. She having moved on to a bigger brighter role - within the Organisation after creating a legacy PS3 - Speaking to someone in the snack break I said these days companies don’t last for 25 years, forget employees. PS4 - That’s a six year old Jr celebrating his Daddy’s success at #L&T #LarsenToubro #LNTConstruction #LetsGo #ImmensePossibilities 🏌️♂️🌸
