Day 10 of my Android journey: Today, I learned how to set custom animations for items in a RecyclerView. I also learned how to limit the number of times these animations are repeated. Furthermore, I acquired the skill to create a custom toolbar in Android and associate it with the application. Additionally, I learned how to add menu items to this custom toolbar, perform actions on their clicks, and configure their attributes, such as 'android:showAsAction,' which essentially determines whether the menu item will appear in a drop-down or in the toolbar.

Tic Tac Toe game Prodigy InfoTech, utilizing Jetpack Compose for constructing the UI. The UI comprises various Columns combined to create a user-friendly interface, featuring TextViews to display player scores and hints indicating the current player's turn. Leveraging Jetpack Compose, I implemented the game grid layout, tile-click animations, and drawing of winning lines. Additionally, a reset button was integrated to clear the board. The core game functionality was implemented in Kotlin, encompassing logic to manage player scores and button actions. #prodigyinfotech #androiddevelopment

I finally managed to find some spare time and resume tinkering with Rust and BevyEngine. I expanded my initial concept from several months ago by implementing character and camera controls, animations, integrating a physics engine and a basic multiplayer mode. In the video you can see entity replication between 2 clients via fully authoritative game server. One of the things I might explore next is the idea of embedding the game server into a Unikernel. The idea behind Unikernels is to remove the overhead of a traditional OS by allowing you to execute a single process in a single address space system. The application and the OS become a single unit. This means less resources consumed, no user-kernel space context switches, improved security posture/attack surface, no additional OS/services to maintain/manage, etc. (the level used is from: https://lnkd.in/eTp2AzDu and character + animations from Mixamo)
