Thinking of running paid ads for your business? Smart move. But here's a few things before you hire an agency: 1️⃣ Don't expect instant miracles, even with the best strategy in the world. Ads take time to optimize. Anyone guaranteeing overnight leads is selling you snake oil. A good agency is transparent about this. 2️⃣ Be prepared to invest some serious budget – and lose some of it at first. This is about testing, learning, and scaling what works. "Testing on a shoestring" limits your data and slows progress. Be realistic. 3️⃣ Understand you'll need to provide assets for best results. Your agency can write copy, but YOU are the expert on your business. Expect to provide product info, testimonials, images, etc. If this still sounds doable, you're the kind of client agencies LOVE to work with. If it doesn't, there's no shame in that! Every Small Business should do their own Facebook Ads! Why as a marketing agency owner I encourage for DIY Ads? Well, because I want the best for You (the client). Why I advocate for in-house ad management: 1. You know your product/service best. 2. Marketing agencies can be a gamble. As a Facebook Ads agency owner, I've seen it all. Small businesses getting screwed left and right by "marketing agencies". Agencies doing the bare minimum to keep the client hooked & happy. They show how many impressions & clicks they got for your brand, which means absolutely nothing. They do a poor set up: No proper tracking. Optimize for wrong campaign objectives. No clear goals. Ad objectives do not align with business strategy. Basically, they waste your money! I took over ad accounts with no conversion tracking whatsoever. How one can call themselves a marketing agency and not set up a Facebook Pixel? Businesses saw no results. Till we stepped in. The fix was simple. Basics & Trust. Understanding Facebook Ads basics is crucial for the business owner but trust in your marketing partner is also key. As a business owner if you're not involved, you're gambling with your growth. My advice if you outsource Meta Ads: 1. Know the basics. 2. Find a trustful partner who wants the best for you. If you cannot trust the partner, do your ads in-house! It’s virtually impossible to search them all. You can use Google as a starting point, but spend the time to really do your research through lists, LinkedIn, industry referrals and more. It’s my job to know the agency landscape better than anyone and I still spend my nights and weekends searching for the perfect agencies for my clients. This part of the search takes a commitment to excellence and there’s no shortcut.
