The procedure for checking dwellings, a stupid, illegal and dangerous obligation: - Stupid because when a dwelling has already been rented, it is necessarily already checked by the people who went there, so useless procedure. - Forcing guests to film and take photos at their tenants is illegal and not consistent with the privacy of tenants. - Requiring hosts to install an app and in addition require them to have a very recent smartphone is illegal as it is not specified in the terms and conditions. - Dangerous because the tenants of Airbnb will falsely believe that the housing is valid or compliant while it is very easy to film the neighbor’s housing and/ or film a housing that does not belong to us, if we rented by an agency for example. The mention of verification being an complicity of Airbnb for the scam.

Brian Chesky Tara Bunch DaveI am a solo female traveler. I came from Texas to Indiana to care for my son who became ill during his senior year in college. I have to be here through May 12 to care for him. I am alone, far from home, and dealing with a great deal of stress. I booked Air B&B across 2 reservations. I do not want to return for the 2nd reservation because it is unsafe. While in this rental, there has been a fatal stabbing 3 blocks away (assailant fled on foot) and a house fire across the street. I provided proof of these events to customer service to no avail. Police sirens run all day and night along this street. It is terrifying. I alerted customer service that I did not want to keep a 2nd reservation at this property, but they are protecting the host only. I was offered $111.37 of a $3,700 reservation. The representatives refused to provide an avenue for escalating my concern and did not respond to my question about my safety. I must be here for another month and cannot afford to lose over $3,500 because Air B&B disregards my safety. I am currently booked to stay elsewhere while simultaneously paying for the unsafe rental. This is surely not the experience leadership wants for your female customers, yet here I am.

Airbnb should appoint a new team of executive to up their game when it comes to legitimate host posting and customer service. I just got scammed out of a Paris reservation booked for a business trip, harrassed by an alleged owner, left in the street to deal with police and find a solution by myself under Airbnb's terms and limits instead of offering a sincere apology and making sure I am safe and properly accomodated. Over 6000 CAD out of pocket and yet the representatives are trying to score a win on me. What a shameful company. I hope your business gets fully regulated same as what British Columbia, Canada did to protect public from your greed, incompetence and no regards for your customers. Shame on you and your team.

Everyone I'm hoping you'll be able to connect with someone who can help me. I am trying to reach someone in senior management of Airbnb as I have an issue with my account now 5 months ongoing, because despite my numerous attempts, no one in help center following up or responding about it apart from sending the same template message over and over again. My account is suspended due to a fake profile/compromised account booking one of the experiences I provide. So therefore the error is not from my side but the automated built in system in the back end of airbnb-s account management software. The account was blocked due to the other fake profile/person trying to pay with a fraudulent card. I already sent a DHL letter to the CEO of airbnb and tried talking to customer service about a hundred times and no one is responding. This is a massive problem that is affecting the livelihood of my team and myself, who provides experiences in various cities, over 50 people affected, and a massive loss for us. Can you all share and tag people here who could help with this please? Thank you 🙏

Hi Ellie Mertz congratulations on your success managing the pandemic and your recent IPO. Clearly you put a lot of attention on detail to accomplish this success. However since you're the CFO and I'm now being fiscally attacked by your organization I believe now it is appropriate to specifically involve you in this public conversation. Ellie Mertz as CFO, do you condone corporate bullying on your host partners? Honestly many of us are YOUR reason of success. Do you condone withholding payments to force an #africanamerican entrepreneur to cease their complaints of Airbnb support #harrassment and #racism ? #airbnb purports itself to be an inclusive and supportive of minorities, however the last 72 hours seems to show the #antiminority / #oppression mindset of a subset of your support agents extends potentially even into a subset of your management as in 72 hours the only thing Airbnb has done has been to place a hold on my payments as an attempt to #oppress me into silence. I hope that by making you, the CFO aware of this fiscal attack that #Airbnb will make the #ethicalbusiness choice to make the payments on the 5+ guests that we have hosted on Airbnb's behalf over the last 72 hours.
