#ICYMI Armed with data from nearly 10 years of investigation and response to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance, or PFAS, releases at its installations, the United States Air Force is rolling new regulatory standards into its ongoing plan to address PFAS risks. AFCEC, a primary subordinate unit of the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, is leading the response effort under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act to identify and mitigate PFAS impacts in the environment. The new standards could mean more sampling of off-base drinking water supplies. The DAF will also conduct quarterly sampling and replace ion exchange or Granular Activated Carbon, or GAC, systems as needed to guarantee that delivered water remains below action levels. #PFAS #environment #USAF

➡️BIG changes are on the horizon for 26,000 AFMC civilians! The Air Force Materiel Command is expanding its Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project, with a target date for converting all eligible GS employees by June 2025. Approximately 26,000 AFMC positions will convert. Major benefits of AcqDemo include pay setting flexibilities, a simplified classification system, contribution-based performance assessment and more. Pay increases are linked directly to individual performance ratings, with the opportunity for employees to earn Contribution Rating Increases annually. This differs from the GS workforce which is subject to multi-year periods between higher-level step increases and a two-year waiting requirement for Quality Step Increases. #USAF #AFMC #AcqDemo #defense #civilservice #civilians
