What do cylindrical, prismatic, and pouch cell batteries have in common? They have all reached their limitations for energy storage. The primary material used in these batteries is graphite, which has reached its maximum capacity to hold energy. To improve, we need to add new materials or change the chemistry to something that holds more energy. Here's where silicon comes in—it has the potential to hold a staggering nine times more energy than graphite. So, adding a little silicon can significantly improve energy density in a variety of battery types, especially those used in electric vehicles. At ADVANO, this is exactly what we do to enhance the performance of batteries. ++++++ #BatteryInnovation #EnergyDensity #AdvancedMaterials
