We’re celebrating a big milestone in sports broadcasting with the first live hockey game broadcast entirely from the cloud! The Carolina Hurricanes vs. Washington Capitals game was produced remotely using AWS technology, with crews in different locations. The National Hockey League (NHL), NHL Network, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have been working together testing and iterating on cloud-based production for live broadcasts which will unlock new content creation opportunities for the NHL’s growing global fan base, in addition to reducing production costs. https://lnkd.in/g_P-Fw5a
This signifies another milestone within the cloud ecosystem. Hopefully, this will open a vista of opportunities and application of cloud services in other industries that are not exactly tech-based.
Well done @Amazon Web Services (AWS ). Next milestone is to broadcast the Summer Olympic Games 💪
This is indeed a groundbreaking moment for sports broadcasting! By leveraging cloud technology, the NHL is not only paving the way for more agile and innovative broadcast solutions but also showing how remote production can bring fans closer to the action from anywhere in the world. It's a win for sustainability, efficiency, and global engagement.
Super cool that our Carolina Hurricanes are a first here. Especially when the Aligned Technology Group team is all in with AWS and the Canes being HQ’d in Raleigh!
The collaboration between NHL, NHL Network, and Amazon Web Services is impressive, Adam Selipsky
Has the live sports event nut been cracked? Things in the sports world are going to get really interesting now.
Go Hurricanes 🌀 💪 . Hockey now using the cloud is amazing given how fast that puck moves 😁 truly a game changer.
Exciting times ahead for sports broadcasting with cloud technology revolutionizing live game broadcasts!
Congratulations on reaching this milestone
