Recent research by AAPI Data and polling firm Momentive has shed light on a critical issue: Asian Americans are eagerly stepping up to join employee resource groups (ERGs), yet we find ourselves significantly underrepresented in our companies’ diversity efforts. Our voices seem to fade into the background during diversity conversations, and our presence in leadership roles, particularly on boards and among women, is disproportionately low. This is a call to action for corporate leaders and allies to fundamentally rethink and enhance DEI initiatives with Asian American employees in mind. It’s not just about increasing numbers; it’s about valuing our contributions, understanding our unique challenges, and ensuring our perspectives are heard and respected. By improving strategies, boosting our representation in leadership, amplifying the impact of ERGs, and fostering an environment of inclusive communication, we can address these disparities head-on. Let’s unite to transform our workplaces into spaces where diversity is not just seen but felt, where every individual is recognized for their unique contributions. Together, we can create an inclusive culture that truly supports and celebrates the rich diversity within the Asian American community and beyond. Let's spread love, not hate. Let's promote inclusiveness, not division. ❤ Today is racial harmony day in Singapore. It's an important occasion because one of the key foundations of our country's success is the ability of our people to co-exist with different races. This applies to organizations as well, don't you think? If you want to build a strong culture, don't simply talk about DEI just for the sake of looking good. Are you truly inclusive? Do you embrace people of different races, ages, nationalities, abilities, backgrounds and more? Or are you simply paying lip service because it's "best practice" in the market to do so? If you want to thrive in today's business environment and be seen as an employer of choice, you need to truly invest in being inclusive. It's a real thing, not just a paper exercise. And it starts from the top. Have a lovely Friday, everyone! Sending love from both my boy and me. 😘 #humanresources #inclusion #culture #employerbranding #leadership

May is Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month. DisruptHR El Paso is taking this opportunity to celebrate the rich culture and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) to our society. This month reminds us of the importance of recognizing and celebrating the diverse histories, cultures, and achievements of AAPIs in shaping the United States. It is a time to reflect on their struggles and triumphs and to appreciate their immense contributions to our society. As a society, we must continue striving for equity, diversity, and inclusion for all individuals, regardless of race or ethnicity. We must work to eradicate racism, discrimination, and hate crimes against AAPIs and other marginalized groups. DisruptHR El Paso is committed to promoting workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion. We believe a diverse and inclusive workplace leads to better innovation, creativity, and productivity. We urge all organizations to take this opportunity to reflect on their efforts to create a more diverse and inclusive workplace. Diversity improves a cultural intelligent company's performance when competing within the global market by bolstering confidence in interactions outside of its domestic market. Cultural intelligence needs to be present through the business from top to bottom. If the team is highly diverse, but the leadership is lacking in cultural intelligence, it will affect performance. Lack of cultural intelligence is likely to result in misunderstanding and team conflicts. However, the good news is that, according to researchers, knowledge combined with a practical training can improve cultural intelligence. That's why – drawing on our research and the input of a global community of senior professionals from PAB Languages and ilc Communications– we have developed an Intercultural Communications Training that helps leaders and their teams to understand inclusion, biases, and cultural differences and increase their cultural intelligence. To download our brochure and learn more about our Intercultural Communications Training, please go to https://buff.ly/3RnphTX #diversity #equality #inclusion #OnlineCertification #OnlineCourse
