🤔Commonly Asked Question: "Do I have to give up snacking if I want to reach my health goals?" The answer is: "NO" The secret? Planning ahead! Here's the reality: 🔸 You WILL sometimes crave a snack between meals. 🔸 It’s WAY EASIER to make a snack choice that supports your goals if you have something prepared to munch on. So how do you balance it all? Swap high-calorie, high-sugar, high-sodium, and processed snacks with options that are based on whole foods — and that are nutritious and filling. 🍎🥜 It's not just about swapping your cookies for grapes… but also finding snacks that pack a nutrient punch. A few ideas: seaweed strips, veggies & hummus, a hard-boiled egg, roasted chickpeas, old-fashioned grass fed beef (not super processed) jerky, and/or 1 ounce (28 grams) of high-quality dark chocolate. FACT: It can take a while to change your snack habits, in part because your tastebuds may be used to ultra-processed foods. Hang in there. The payoffs in your energy and results are SO WORTH IT. What is your current healthy snack obsession?! Let’s get some inspiration going 👇💬

International Eat an Apple Day As the peak of apple season begins, it seems very appropriate to celebrate a day of eating an apple. Apples are delicious. Believe it or not there are actually over 100 different kinds of apples! You won’t see them all in the grocery store however. What you will find are the most popular varieties in stores or in apple orchards. Some varieties offered are Fuji, Macintosh, Golden Crisp, Red Delicious, Granny Smith and Gala to name a few. The health benefits are tremendous. Apples contain antioxidants, fiber and vitamin C. Apples may also support weight loss and heart health. Likewise they show links to lowering your chance of Type 2 diabetes. Unfortunately some growers use chemicals to keep them from spoiling. It’s important to be sure to wash your apples well in warm water before you eat them. Talk to your grocer about where the apples come from or locate an organic grower if possible. There are so many different ways for you to enjoy apples. You can eat them with some peanut butter, make apple butter, use them in a Waldorf salad or in pancakes. You might also try using them with roast pork. Delicious. Additionally, you might treat yourself to an apple pie! There are some folks who think either the macintosh or cortland apples are best!. We’ll let you be the judge of that. Private Home Health Care loves to enjoy an apple, especially during this peak season. Johnny Appleseed would certainly endorse that! Photo by Sharefaith.

I help busy dads lose 5-10 kgs in 12 weeks and get into their best shape through my unique HTS system (Without sacrificing their favourite foods)
Is your environment working for you or against you. We make a lot of decisions everyday and most of them happen unconsciously. Most of these decisions are influenced by what’s around us, A.K.A our environment When our environment supports our goals, making the right choice becomes easy and convenient, if not we struggle to reach our goals. In short make foods that support your goals like fruits, vegetables, nuts, healthy snacks easy to reach. Keep them in the front of the fridge, on your desk or somewhere you an see them constantly And make foods that don’t support your goals like chocolates, chips etc..hard to reach. Keep them in a top shelf which you have to put a stool to reach or hide them behind the fruits and vegetables in your fridge or the best option would be to consider not having them at home at all.
