About The Position

Velosio is looking for a VP of HR to lead our People Function.

As the Vice President of Human Resources at Velosio, you will serve as a strategic advisor and partner to the CEO and senior leadership team. Your mission is to optimize organizational effectiveness and drive the HR strategic agenda, ensuring Velosio is recognized as a premier employer and aligning HR systems with business objectives and processes across global locations. Our ideal candidate has broad business acumen and reflects an entrepreneurial “get it done” attitude by leveraging operational management and leadership skills in a fast-growing environment. The right candidate is one who is self-sufficient but a team player and a strategic thinker with an attention to detail and an ability to execute with excellence!

The VP of HR will oversee 12 HR team members with reporting structure as follows:

  • Director of Global Talent Acquisition (3 US-based Recruiters, 1 India-based Recruiter, 1 Sourcing Specialist, 1 Onboarding Specialist)
  • Payroll & Benefits Manager (1 Total Rewards Specialist)
  • Employee Experience Manager (1 Talent Management Specialist, 1 Learning & Development Specialist)

HR Strategy

Your day might look like:

  • Develop and begin executing a comprehensive HR strategy that includes talent acquisition, retention, performance management, and leadership development, ensuring alignment with Velosio's growth objectives.
  • Establish a consistent culture and HR practices across all locations, focusing on scalability and compliance with local employment laws and regulations.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior management, providing insights and recommendations on organizational and leadership issues.
  • Collaborate with functional business leaders to optimize recruiting and retention efforts in alignment with Velosio's growth objectives.
  • Evaluate and enhance HR processes and technology solutions to improve service quality and efficiency.
  • Participate in the Senior Leadership Team, focusing on maximizing the effectiveness of our people resources and aligning them with company goals.
  • Advise CEO and senior leadership on organizational design, change management, and workforce alignment strategies.

Employee Engagement

  • Develop and implement employee programs and processes that support business objectives and foster a culture of success.
  • Introduce new programs or enhance existing ones that focus on employee well-being, work-life balance, and professional growth, aiming to improve engagement scores by 10%.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Oversee a review and restructuring of compensation programs to ensure market competitiveness and alignment with performance management philosophy.
  • Lead the development of strategic benefit programs to enhance employee well-being and engagement while managing costs effectively.

Employee Relations

  • Partner with senior leaders and legal counsel on HR issues, fostering a positive work environment and resolving conflicts.
  • Develop and execute plans to mitigate risks related to employment practices.

Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Lead HR due diligence processes for acquisitions, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with Velosio's growth strategy.

General Leadership

  • Drive execution of aggressive growth plans, leveraging data-driven insights to assess HR effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with CEO and Senior Leaders to align HR function with overall business objectives.
  • Directly manage and mentor the HR team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and high performance.

What You'll Bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred.
  • Over 10 years of progressive leadership experience in HR, with at least 5 years at the senior executive level within technology or professional services industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement strategic HR initiatives, manage significant organizational change, and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Strong understanding of global HR requirements, including multi-country employment laws and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Deep understanding of federal, state, and local employment, wage and salary laws and regulations, particularly in a multi-state and multi-country environment.
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills.
