Department Overview

The Business Technology & Analytics Team (BT&A) supports the Firm through driving collaboration and advancement in business-centric technology, enabling the Firm to leverage data and technology assets for insights and day-to-day decision-making.



Position Responsibilities

Golub Capital is looking for a motivated individual to perform complex data analysis and develop automated reports for business stakeholders and leadership.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Handling ongoing BT&A sponsored analytics projects and developing new ones to support business needs
  • Collaborating with counterparts across the Firm to identify, prioritize and implement projects leveraging data from the Firm’s CRM and other operational systems to answer key business questions
  • Partnering with Technology Solutions and external vendors to complete enhancements to the analytical platforms including the Data Warehouse, SSAS Cubes, Synapse, the External Data Hub and others
  • Monitoring technology trends and vendor capabilities to identify emerging technologies worth exploring and coordinating vendor research and demos with business counterparts
  • Designing, testing and rolling out PowerBI reports and dashboards that are used for management of the business using a variety of sources including cubes and data warehouses / data lakes
  • Monitoring routine data analysis deliverables and handling ad-hoc analysis requests for leadership and other business stakeholders, including (but not limited to) business KPI, client / competitor activity and data quality reporting
  • Supporting the development of models used for analysis of operational and externally sourced market data
  • Proactively monitoring report availability and accuracy, partnering with counterparts in Technology Solutions to resolve issues
  • Collaborating with the Data Analytics Community of Practice on knowledge sharing and best practices
  • Leading a team of data and analytics professionals, acting as a coach and mentor for their long-term development
  • Driving cross-functional projects forward in alignment with the Data Governance Committee
  • Other tasks as assigned



Candidate Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education required, preferably in applied mathematics / statistics, engineering, business analytics or a related field
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience with database systems, reporting and data analysis
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, specifically Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, data warehouses and SSAS Cubes
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), Visual Basic (VBA), Power Query M, building reports and visualizations within PowerBI or other reporting platforms
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS or PowerBI Paginated Report Builder, Azure Data Studio, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Black Mountain / Allvue, Wall Street Office, Eloqua, version control tools (e.g., GitHub), analysis of unstructured data, R and Python a plus
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and logical reasoning skills
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a straightforward manner to Business and Technology Team stakeholders
  • Utmost attention to detail
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, manage time and priorities under pressure and meet deadlines

For New York Only: It is expected that the base salary range for this position will be $150,000 to $200,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experiences and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, the employee will be in an ‘at-will position’ and the Firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time including for reasons related to individual performance, Firm or individual department / team performance and market factors.
