Vice President Rental & Leasing

Position Summary

This position reports to the CEO and President and is primarily responsible for a n ational electric yard truck rental and leasing fleet department. The role is responsible for architecting, building, and overseeing all rental and lease customer-facing and office operations. This role requires a combination of sales, strategy, operations, and entrepreneurial skills. In addition to meeting rental utilization targets, you will be responsible for direct sales to a national customer base and delivering a best-in-class support functions.

Position Responsibilities

• Develop the short and long term strategy to expand and maintain the utilization of nationwide rental and leasing fleet of electric yard hostlers
• Coordinate with sales, service, staff, and customers to deliver high asset utilization
• Identify, source, manage, and develop a team and strategy that grows and nurtures customer relationships for rental contracts nationwide
• Build best-in-class office operations supporting customer onboarding, offboarding, maintenance and overall company logistics
• Develop, institute, and track KPIs including scheduling, inventory, and demand reports, among others
• Utilize Salesforce software to manage rental and leasing fleet rentals as well as operations
• Advise and recommend correct equipment and packages for customers
• Understand competition and movements in markets and recommend prices, offerings, and promotions
• Advise, recommend, and support correct insurance coverages for corporate rental program and customers
• Assist with customer collections to prevent past due accounts and resolve any customer conflicts
• Help perform on site customer demonstrations of vehicles
• Prepare financial and operational forecasts and budgets
• Develop all SOPs and documentation for asset acquisition, renewals, quotes, invoices, rental agreements, inspections, sales and use tax, R&M, audits, driver and customer verification, COIs, and licenses, among others
• Help form and oversee asset disposition and total lifecycle of equipment for the rental program
• Engineer risk mitigation across the department both contractually and operationally
  
  

Position Qualifications

• 10+ years prior experience, preferably greenfield building, and managing a trucking rental and leasing department
• Demonstrated success in a national rental and leasing program preferably in vehicles
• Knowledge and expertise with fleet management software
• Experience using accounting software and Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook
• Experience working with external parties: banks, insurance, 3PL, and deployed field personnel
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to lead
• Bachelor’s degree in a supporting or related field
