Vice President of Operations


Lucky Goat Coffee is a specialty coffee production roaster based out of Tallahassee, Florida. Since 2010, Lucky Goat has focused on expanding our brand through a growing café portfolio, an expanding wholesale business and a booming e-commerce platform with nationwide reach. We are a team passionate about coffee and focused on making every experience with our brand one to remember. 


The Vice President of Operations is vital to the continued success and growth of Lucky Goat Coffee. This individual is responsible for providing leadership and executing company goals for Lucky Goat Coffee’s complex supply chain across Roasting, Production, Distribution and Baking Divisions.  Along with partnering with other key leaders, this position will drive growth initiatives and cultivate long term vision for Lucky Goat Coffee both within Tallahassee and across the US.


Qualifications


  • Ability to permanently reside in Tallahassee, Florida.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of diversified managerial and operations experience.
  • Strong understanding of business with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Experience managing multi-function supply chain, lean manufacturing, and distribution.
  • Must have excellent leadership skills, business acumen and ability to effectively manage, lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team.
  • Must possess executive level communication and influencing skills with the ability to resolve issues, build consensus among groups of diverse internal/external individuals and have proven skill in negotiating and mediating conflict.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and build a consensus in a high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated excellence in strategic thinking, process creation and implementation. Open to new perspectives to achieve overall vision and company goals.
  • Strong background in goal deployment, strategic planning and building organizational capability.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills with an impeccable attention to detail and follow through.


Responsibilities


  • Oversee day-to-day company operations divisions across multiple locations including:
  • Supply chain, inventory, and purchasing of green coffee, allied, and all supplies.
  • Roasting, manufacturing and production of coffee products such as bagged coffee, cold brew coffee, and single serve pods.
  • Distribution (DSD and LTL) and small parcel order fulfillment (E-Commerce).
  • Service of internal and external equipment (coffee equipment, forklifts, and more)
  • In-house baking operations.
  • Human resources.
  • Define and implement short-term and long-term operational strategies, structure, and processes.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all phases of operations from personnel to equipment with a focus on building workplace culture.
  • Oversee and maintain food safety and food quality plans including GMPs, HAACP, PCQI and best practices for food and beverage manufacturing. Inclusive of industry specific certifications such as USDA Organic and Kosher.
  • Work with Senior Leadership in developing company vision and strategy based on historical trends and execution priorities.
  • Develop and manage quarterly and annual budgeting process and P&L responsibilities, including monitoring and controlling costs to meet gross profit and net profit targets.
  • Develop cost structure and monitor margins for new and existing products.
  • Monitor performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions for continued growth using measuring KPIs.
  • Oversee recruiting efforts for operations departments to ensure the strengthening of the operations teams to achieve company vision.
  • Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of 30+ Operations professionals to execute company vision, strategy, and goals, with the support of other managers and supervisors. Focusing heavily on empowerment, accountability, and growth.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape of our industry and be accountable to the question: “What is the next big step of operational growth for Lucky Goat Coffee?”


This position will report to the company Owner/President and will work closely alongside the Vice President of Branding and Vice President of Sales. This position will also collaborate with the Vice President of Franchise Development on an as-needed basis.
