To succeed as the Vice President of Operations, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical or Materials Engineering.
  • 10+ years in business operations or engineering, with 7+ years in leading operations and 5+ years in innovation processes or disruptive technologies.
  • Proven success leading teams in high-growth, early-stage companies, product lines, or business units.
  • Solid strategic thinking capabilities, identifying and seizing new business and operational opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and execute company priorities and operational objectives, translating complex dynamics into concrete strategies and plans.
  • Exceptional leadership qualities, including the ability to manage performance, resolve conflict, motivate teams, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and creative problem-solving.


What You’ll Do:

As the VP, Operations, you will be accountable for the following three key areas:


Partner with company leadership in setting the business vision and strategy

  • Collaborate with the leadership team in establishing and driving the organizational vision and operational strategy, ensuring alignment with both short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Create and translate strategy into actionable goals for company performance and growth, helping to implement organization-wide goals, performance expectations, and annual strategic plans.


Lead company operations to execute the business strategy and plan and to deliver expected outcomes.

  • Represent the operational perspective in leadership team meetings.
  • Define and optimize an organizational structure – including talent development initiatives -- for a rapidly evolving young company.
  • Establish and implement a cadence, policies, procedures, systems, and metrics to ensure that business priorities are met or exceeded.
  • Manage performance, track metrics, and establish corrective measures as needed.
  • Review the financial performance of manufacturing operations and establish continuous improvement initiatives and corrective actions where needed.
  • Establish a scheduled routine of providing detailed reports to the leadership team, in which current performance is monitored, and future projections are a stretch yet realistic.
  • Recommend capital expenditures for the acquisition of new equipment, which would increase the efficiency and services of the operations organization
  • Negotiate contracts with equipment and material suppliers
  • Hire and supervise direct reports, including guiding day-to-day tasks, coaching/training, time management, goal setting, performance monitoring, and delivering feedback and annual reviews.
  • Lead and develop team members to achieve their job and career success.
