Pay: $97,760.00 - $364,000.00 per year


Department: Sales and Marketing


Reports To: CEO


Direct Reports: Currently 1 sales specialist, expected sales team of 3 and marketing team of 1 by end of the year.


Location: Remote or Part-time onsite (Philomath, OR)


Schedule/Hours: As coordinated with the executive team, expected 50+ hours per week.

Your Role:

In this role, you are ultimately responsible for sales of the company’s products. Initially, this will be primarily focused on specific models which are primarily sold to medical device companies for their sales, marketing, and educational initiatives. You will be tasked with establishing the steps in our sales funnel, creating the sales and marketing strategy, building and managing a sales and marketing team, and growing our pipeline in lockstep with the growth of our production capacity.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Support our vision and mission: To improve patient surgical outcomes.
  • Proactively promotes positive culture and commitment to customer success.
  • Comply with proprietary Quality System.
  • Perform tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager.
  • Embrace company core values.
  • Develop short and long term goals for the sales organization.
  • Manage commercial team members to meet or exceed forecasts and goals.
  • Build and scale a division that is already doing significant revenue with 1 sales team member.
  • Research, strategize, plan with supporting data to get management buy-in/approval.
  • Ensure/build all systems, processes and procedures to fully manage the sales/service pipeline.
  • Develop a strategy, demonstrate success, then hire the right people to help build and scale aspects of the process.
  • Contribute to or oversee website, collateral, CRM, systems, marketing, and client support.
  • Open communication and collaboration, along with mentoring – an authentic team atmosphere.
  • Provide exceptional customer service externally and internally.
  • Expand utilization of products across new surgical specialties.
  • Ultimately responsible for revenue growth of the company.


Qualifications and Critical Skills/Expertise:

  • Bachelors preferred with combined 10 years of experience in medical devices sales and demonstrated experience leading a sales force.
  • Solid understanding/experience in the medical device industry, including training and surgery.
  • Strong leadership skills built around communication and collaboration.
  • Must be meticulously detail-oriented, leadership and autonomy is expected.
  • Able to strategize, plan, and manage a P&L to achieve/exceed plan with scaling in mind.
  • Possesses a good, related network, but more importantly, has skills to expand it quickly.
  • Knows how to sell and close medical relationship-oriented business.
  • Able to establish processes and procedures and quickly adjust as required.
  • Must fit the culture and have a passion for helping make patients’ and doctors’ lives better.


Other Knowledge and Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of major medical device companies, products supported, trends, upcoming developments, and general medical device landscape.


Required Familiarity with the following Equipment:

  • CRM systems
  • Google suite programs


Working Environment & Physical Requirements:

75% office work and 25% travel (including conferences and on-site customer service).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly:

  • Experience prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and occasional fast walking.
  • Use hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate hand tools.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • May have exposure to biologics and chemicals.
