Vice President of Contracts and Commercial Management

Summary/Objective:


We are in search of a seasoned Vice President of Contracts and Commercial Management to lead our commercial management processes. This strategic role is designed for a veteran in the construction industry, equipped with deep knowledge and a proven track record. The successful candidate will secure advantageous contracts and provide expert guidance across corporate functions, skillfully handling complex technical, commercial, and legal challenges.



Key Responsibilities:


Contract, Claims, and Dispute Resolution:

  • Act as the primary contact for intricate contracts, claims, disputes, and legal negotiations, upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Develop and maintain expertise as the company’s lead representative in depositions, testimonies, and dispute resolutions.
  • Ensure all contracts adhere to legal standards and company policies, effectively mitigating risks and enhancing business opportunities.


Commercial and Risk Management:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with C-suite executives, regional leaders, and general managers.
  • Design and implement strategies for commercial and risk management that align with the company’s objectives.
  • Lead the commercial and risk management functions, providing strategic direction and support.


Business and Project Management:

  • Promote excellence in business and commercial management across the organization.
  • Serve as a key resource for best practices and industry knowledge.


Team Leadership:

  • Build and manage a high-performing team in contracts and construction management.
  • Offer mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members, fostering growth and excellence.


Educational Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred.
  • At least 15 years of experience managing projects with budgets over $50 million.
  • Outstanding project management, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex information and develop inter-departmental collaborations.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and meet ambitious objectives.
  • Comprehensive understanding of business operations and the ability to convey this to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in leading multiple departments.
