Vice President of Business Development

Vice President of Business Development will be responsible for identifying new representatives and markets, developing a product roadmap, and working closely with the National Sales Manager and Engineering Manager to achieve company objectives. This role will be based in New York and will play a critical role in shaping the company's future growth trajectory.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective representatives, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive revenue growth and penetration into new markets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and operations, to ensure seamless execution of business development initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with the General Manager, National Sales Manager, and Engineering Manager to align business development efforts with sales and product development objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate potential representatives and markets to expand customer base and increase market share.
  • Work closely with the Engineering Manager to develop a product roadmap that aligns with market needs and customer demands.
  • Lead the evaluation and selection of new representatives, distributors, and strategic partners to expand market reach.
  • Provide guidance and support to the National Sales Manager in developing sales strategies, setting targets, and monitoring sales performance.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and customer insights to identify potential opportunities for product innovation and differentiation.
  • Prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior leadership on market trends, competitive analysis, and business development strategies.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical, marine, Food and Beverage, oil and gas, chemical, power generation, semiconductor, biofuel/ethanol, water and wastewater, and HVAC industries.
  • Proven track record of success in business development and sales leadership, preferably in the valve or industrial manufacturing industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field. A master's degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and evaluate new representatives and markets, resulting in successful business partnerships and market expansion.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset with the abilty to develop a product roadmap that aligns with market needs and customer demands.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
