Overview

TRC Companies is seeking an experienced Vice President of Human Resources based in our Santa Monica, California office. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer (CPO), the Vice President will oversee all aspects of HR operations for the National Clean Transportation Solutions Practice (CTS), including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, employee engagement and development and HR compliance. The Vice President will be the HR Business Partner to CTS leadership and the employee champion. This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of HR best practices, and a proven track record of driving organizational and business success through effective HR initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate, as the HR Business Partner, with CTS business leaders to understand organizational goals and implement HR strategies to support the business while engaging and developing employees.
  • Lead the talent acquisition process, including workforce planning, recruitment, and onboarding, to attract and retain top talent.
  • Oversee employee relations activities, providing guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, ad compliance matters.
  • Drive performance management processes, including goal setting and KPIs, performance reviews and career development planning.
  • Design and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs to ensure alignment with industry standards and employee needs.
  • Lead training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills, capabilities, and engagement and be the liaison for participation into other TRC sponsored employee development programs (RISE, LEAD, BRIDGE, SPIRIT, STEP, etc.).
  • Chair the CTS Diversity & Inclusion Committee in alignment with TRC Corporate standards.
  • Collaborate with CTS leadership specific to employee engagement and development programs.
  • Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion through the organization, promoting equal opportunities and a respectful work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local employment laws and regulations. Collaborate with VP HR Compliance to update HR policies and practices as needed.
  • Collaborate with senior management to address organizational challenges and drive positive change initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of proven experience in HR management in California.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR principles, best practices, and employment laws.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR)
  • Experience in services industry.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
