East End Advisors (“EEA”) is a New York based independent investment advisory firm that partners with a small number of institutions and families to build customized investment portfolios. EEA has limited the size of the client base in order to provide access to capacity constrained investment managers, and to ensure individualized attention to each client’s investment objectives, risk tolerance, and liquidity requirements.

With an AUM of approximately $6 billion, EEA employs a long-term investment approach and views portfolio positioning and manager selection as key to achieving the dual goals of capital preservation and superior performance. Portfolios are constructed from the bottom up as we seek to partner with the best investment managers to capitalize on attractive opportunities across asset classes within an overall risk framework. We develop relationships with each manager through extensive research and ongoing monitoring, endeavoring to ensure that each manager is deserving of a place in the client’s portfolio.

East End Advisors is seeking a generalist investment professional with public and/or private markets investment experience to join its nine-person investment team. The VP/Director will work closely on new investment activities, as well as monitoring and analysis of existing fund investments. This role is expected to include significant interaction with external managers and clients.

  • Analyze returns and trends both domestically and internationally, monitoring market conditions to help assess investment opportunities
  • Assist in client portfolio management and analysis
  • Assist in creating presentations for investment committees and board members of clients
  • Assist with ongoing work and any special projects that arise

  • 6 to 10+ years of relevant experience, including experience researching and investing in private and/public markets (Endowment, Foundation, Pension, Fund of Funds, Family Office, or Investment Advisory would be ideal)
  • Knowledge of the private equity universe, including investments in venture capital, growth equity, buyouts, and special situations
  • Passion for investing, flexible, driven; you would be joining a small team covering a broad investment landscape
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Effective communicator with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Collaborative team member with intellectual curiosity
  • Successful candidate should have excellent time management skills and be able to prioritize, with keen attention to detail
