User Experience Designer

Role: UX/UI Designer

Job Type: Freelance, 6 months, 15-20 hours/week

Start Date: Interviewing now, starts mid-May thru the end of the year

Rate: $40 - $45/hr (DOE)

Location: Remote, preference for PST

Our wearable, health tech client needs a UX/UI to join their team for a 6+ month contract, roughly 15 to 20 hours/week.

In this exciting opportunity, the UX/UI Designer will be the second designer to join the team, and will partner closely with the Lead Designer to handle design updates on the client's wearables mobile app.

Primary responsibilities for the UX/UI Designer include:

- Work off of incoming usability studies and user research to make updates to the mobile app

- Update wireframes and prototypes in Figma, making changes to the content, user flows, and visual look and feel

- Take on additional ad hoc design requests across other departments as needed

Skills / qualifications for the ideal UX/UI Designer:

- Highly skilled in Figma

- Ability to present and justify design decisions based on user research and usability studies

- Bonus points for experience in consumer health apps / the healthcare space, and extra bonus if you have specific experience in diabetes, regulated medical devices, and/or health behavior change
