We’re looking for an
Underwriting Assistant, Casualty Reinsurance
Reporting to the SVP, Head of Casualty Reinsurance (US), you will support the continued development of Hamilton Re’s US Casualty Reinsurance portfolio.
Hamilton Re is our Bermuda insurer underwriting property, casualty and specialty insurance and reinsurance on a global basis.
What you will do
- Receive submissions, download information and set up new business and renewal files
- Provide admin support to underwriters through the underwriting process
- Ensure timely logging and accuracy of all underwriting data within the underwriting and other relevant business systems
- Assist in administration and management reporting of portfolios
- Liaise with our finance and operations teams to process business
- Support business development efforts
- Contribute to system testing, ad hoc projects and research work
What you require for the role
- Experience in a similar role; preferably within Reinsurance
- Strong work ethic with superior organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Ability to work independently within a small team, with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Strong time management
- Ability to productively leverage data and technology
- Effective communication skills
