Theater Teacher

360 Talent Avenue is partnering with a vibrant Religious educational institution dedicated to nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and artistic expression among their students. They pride themselves on offering a well-rounded education that includes a strong emphasis on the arts. We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Middle and High School Theatre Teacher to join their arts department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in theater education, with experience in directing, acting, and stage production. This role involves teaching theater arts to students in grades 6-12, directing school plays and musicals, and fostering a love of the performing arts.

This position is a direct hire with our client and requires a Statement of Faith. Pay: $47,223/Year Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, Retirement Plan As a Theater Teacher you will be responsible for: Instruction: Teach theater classes to middle and high school students, covering topics such as acting, directing, script analysis, stagecraft, and theater history. Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive theater curriculum that engages students and meets educational standards. Directing: Direct and produce school plays, musicals, and other theatrical performances, overseeing all aspects of production from casting to final performance. Student Assessment: Assess student progress through regular evaluations, providing constructive feedback and setting goals for improvement. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other arts department staff, school administration, and parents to support students' artistic growth and development. Extracurricular Activities: Lead or support extracurricular theater activities, such as drama clubs, theater competitions, and community performances. Professional Development: Stay current with developments in theater education and participate in professional development opportunities. Theater Management: Oversee the maintenance and care of theater facilities and equipment, ensuring a safe and functional performance space. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Theatre, Theatre Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Certification: Valid teaching certification in theater (specific to state requirements). Experience: Previous teaching experience in a middle or high school theater program is highly desirable. Skills: Strong background in acting, directing, and stage production; excellent organizational and communication skills. Passion: A deep passion for theater and a commitment to fostering a love of the performing arts in students.
