The position of Senior Vice President, Multinational – Head of North America has the primary responsibility for the company’s multinational business network, multinational business development, support platform, processes and procedures in the US, Canada & Mexico territories. This position will provide input and analysis related to the company’s strategic plans regarding expansion of a platform to connect owned overseas offices, which will allow for an expansion of both US-based and ‘non-US’-based Master programs to support our global clients. The SVP, Multinational – Head of NA is recognized as a subject matter expert in supporting multinational commercial insurance products throughout North America. Reporting to the EVP, Multinational, this position will manage assigned staff in the US, Canada & Mexico and represent the Multinational BU at corporate meetings, committee involvement, and provides corporate reports as needed. This role will be based out of our New York City, Florham Park, NJ or Charlotte, NC office.


Responsibilities include:

  • Development, implementation and oversight of operational workflow and processes for Multinational business originating out of and into the North America region.
  • Overall responsibility for the implementation of the End to End process for Multinational support functions associated with placements in North America.
  • Direct management responsibilities for North America Multinational Business Unit service team
  • Responsible for Multinational Business Planning for region in connection with SI Regional Executive Mgmt team
  • Responsible for driving global consistency across SI International & JIA business
  • Responsible for onboarding, oversight and ongoing performance management of Network partners in region
  • Assist regional underwriting teams with Multinational business development and pre-bind, complex deal construction
  • Training and support of BU staff including identified multinational “experts”, other underwriters and UAs
  • Participates in the creation, oversight and the continual development, management, and maintenance of corporate underwriting guidelines/philosophies, strategies, and underwriting tools for multinational business accounts within North America territory.
  • Provides regional management staff with insight on multinational market trends in underwriting, product management, and country regulatory requirements and capabilities (owned paper or via fronting partner).
  • Directs, oversees, and participates in developing appropriate responses to underwriting queries around country capabilities, and regulatory requirements for the North America region.
  • Coordinates and participates in underwriting audits across the enterprise, as needed, to ensure compliance with key regulatory requirements locally and abroad.
  • Works with the leadership staff to develop and implement training and continuing education opportunities for underwriters and Multinational staff as needed.
  • Coordinates staff efforts to develop and participate in a broad “industry” perspective on key issues, including emerging risks by monitoring industry publications, webinars, or annual symposiums.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • College degree and /or CPCU preferred
  • 15+ years’ experience in underwriting commercial business; Multinational Experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in Home Office underwriting management and filings is preferred
  • Experience in product line management preferred
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and good business judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated focus and sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals through teamwork and collaboration
  • Experience using Windows and Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • E&S business knowledge and experience preferred



Salary Range: $210,000 - $265,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
