What You'll Do:

As a Summer Industrial Design Intern at Traeger, you will be responsible for supporting the design department and advanced platform research and development team with the creation of visual assets, the organization and storage of product data, and assisting in the development of new products. You’ll have the opportunity to grow your knowledge of human factors/ethnography, design trends, and manufacturing materials/processes through hands on experience. Responsibilities include working closely with a cross functional team on activities such as brainstorms, consumer research, product evaluations, and competitive benchmarking. This role requires a high level of organization, creativity, and attention to detail.

How You'll Help Us Win:

• Work with engineering, UX, product management and other team members to envision solutions to solve consumer pain points
• Research our consumers and our competitors to gain a deep understanding of the marketplace
• Concept exploration for diverse projects
• Creation of renderings and visualization of concepts
• Creation of concept 3D mockups and prototypes
  
  
  

What You'll Need to Succeed:

• Practical problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, an innate sense of good aesthetics, strong communication, self starting motivated attitude
• A portfolio that demonstrates deep concept exploration (show us how you got to your solutions!), innovative solutions, and communicates problem-solving skills
• 3D modeling and rendering skills – preferably Solidworks & Keyshot
• Confidence with 2D and 3D design visualization tools
• An unfailing advocate for the consumer
• Hands-on shop skills and ability to make quick benchtop prototypes
• Experience with using 3D printing for developing, prototyping, and iterating on concepts
• Basic understanding of materials and manufacturing processes
