ResponsibilitiesPastoral

• Responsible for carrying out the purpose of Freshwater: “To help REACH non-believing individuals, CONNECT them with other Christians, help them GROW in their faith, SERVE others and HONOR Christ.” Provide spiritual care, discipleship, guiding and supporting people in/through all stages and situations in their lives. Responsible for raising up leaders through the leadership pipeline for the church.
  
  

Student Ministries

• Provide vision, direction, and shepherding of the Jr. High (Grades 6-8) and Sr. High (Grades 9-12) student ministries at Freshwater Church. The SM Pastor is responsible to coordinate the overall ministry to students including outreach, discipling, training student leaders, and student pastoral care. Plans and executes weekly gatherings and groups for Jr and Sr High that presents the Gospel and encourages students to grow in their faith. Plans events to reach and engage students.
  
  

Qualifications

• A mature and tested faith in Jesus Christ with a strong knowledge of the Bible.
• Strong verbal and written and communication skills with the ability to articulate the intent and value of the church’s vision, mission, goals, strategy and plans.
• Ability to preach relevant biblical sermons.
• The ability to communicate to large groups of people through preaching, writing, social media and ability to create functional systems within Student MInistries.
• An aptitude for self-starting and completing tasks within established timeframes.
• Ability to work effectively with members, ministry leaders, and teams.
• The successful individual must have a proven track record of effective leadership, judgment and above reproach character.

• Perform weddings and funerals as required.
• Counsel individuals and couples.

• Carry out Sunday morning responsibilities assigned.
• Represent Freshwater in the community through participation in community events and activities.
  
  

Student Ministry

• Care for the members, attenders, and prospects of the student ministry.
• Oversight of two distinct ministry age groups (6th - 8th & 9th -12th)
• Create and maintain an effective ministry budget.
• Create a master calendar detailing student lesson plans.
• Organize local and international mission opportunities for all students annually.
• Disciple students.
• Recruit and lead volunteer teams utilizing Freshwater's leadership development process.
• Create and maintain a consistent meeting & training schedule with volunteers.
• Effectively communicate with students and parents on a consistent basis.
• Leverage social media to advance Student ministry.
• Plan & follow through on outreach events designed to reach students for Christ.
• Attend student conferences with students.
• Implement the assimilation strategy for guest students.
• Create annual planning goals and projects.
• Maintain all required data points for student ministry (conversions, recommitments, attendance, number of leaders, number of outreach events).
• Attend weekly staff meetings.
• Conduct regular reviews of Student Ministry volunteers.
• Provide solid administration to ensure the ministry is effective and efficient.
