We are currently looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to add to our Finance Team. The Staff Accountant plays a pivotal role in our finance team, contributing to the management of financial transactions. This position will be responsible for the execution of various daily accounting functions and period-end financial reporting processes. The Staff Accountant should be able to meet established deadlines during the financial period with remarkable attention to detail and accuracy. The ideal candidate should work well within a collaborative and team-based atmosphere and be able to interact daily with all levels of the company’s workforce.

 

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile intercompany/credit cards, control and record credit card expenses with supporting documents and allocate expenses to the correct ledger accounts monthly
  • Record expenses for Service Technicians T&E reimbursements, on a weekly/biweekly basis
  • Follow accounts receivable by verifying transaction information, computing charges and refunds, preparing invoices, identifying delinquent accounts, and identifying insufficient payments
  • Resolve valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries
  • Maintain a reasonable AR Aging time frame by totaling unpaid invoices and collecting revenue by reminding delinquent accounts of past due amounts and notifying customers of insufficient payments
  • Maintain records for paying vendors, suppliers, and employees
  • Possible AD Hoc Reports (including but not limited to Cash Flow, Trial Balance, Reporting Model, etc.)
  • Maintain weekly bank reconciliations
  • Assist with process improvement and project testing and implementation
  • Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with external audit requests
  • Backup other accounting department duties as needed and engage in special projects as assigned
  • Assist with project cost tracking


Required Knowledge

  • Strong ability to use MS Office packages, including advanced Excel skills
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Good at working independently, thinking critically and developing quality ideas to improving organizations processes
  • Experience with AX Dynamic or another ERP system
  • Experience with Power BI and Power Query knowledge, a plus
  • Highly organized with the ability to self-motivate to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data for accuracy and reasonableness
  • Experience working in a team oriented, collaborative environment


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
  • 1-3 years experience in Accounting role
  • General Ledger experience, a plus.
